PWL BIGTIME WRESTLING
MONDAY, JULY 24, 2000 @ CRYSTAL PALACE & BREWERY, PHOENIX.
KERMIT THE FROG and GUY SMILEY interviewed PWL President GENE WEST, who announced that The Terror would have to defend the World heavyweight championship against a former North American champion tonight, but he wouldn't reveal the ex-champ's identity.
Opening Match: CAP'N CRUNCH pinned MASCARITA DIABLO in 3:22 to retain the Midgets' World championship. Straightforward match, with the champ getting a clean pinfall victory over one of the legendary midget wrestlers. Crunch attempted to injure Diablo after the match by jamming Crunch Berries down his throat, but Diablo had enough sense to fight back and chase the Cap'n off. Crunch continued running when Nauga and Orko spotted him in the back and tried to capture him for undetermined reasons.
Second Match: AA (JUSTIN TOXICATED and AL COHOLIC) defeated LONG SWEET LIPS (FOOT and TANKA SATCHMO) in 5:12 when Al pinned Foot. A match that elevated AA to much higher billing, this showcased the Drunken Ones' immense talent and potential. This was, hopefully, simply a bump in LSL's road to continued PWL greatness.
Kermit talked to MONDO MBAMBA on the phone. Mondo did not sound pleased that Gene West is offering an unknown former NA champ for The Terror tonight. He mentioned something about West being "dangerously close to spoiling my big, shocking surprise, Frog."
Third Match: DARK ANGEL pinned ERMA ELSEY in 3:16. Dark Angel's return to TV wrestling was a rousing success, as she thoroughly dominated this match. Angel even gave Elsey adviser Sergeant Blast a beating.
Fourth Match: SUPER HEAVY pinned DIRK MERCURY in 4:01. An injury to Triple X last week has led his NC-17 mate into a brief stint in the singles' ranks. Though he has more PWL experience than his opponent, Heavy's prowess as an individual competitor, not to mention his size advantage, proved to be the deciding factors in this contest.
Time for Kermit to interview World heavyweight champion THE TERROR. Terror has always said that he didn't care about anyone or anything even remotely involved with the PWL, and his opponent tonight was no exception. He garnered heel heat by crudely taunting Phoenix about their local NFL franchise.
Fifth Match: FAT ALBERT pinned BIG SID SMITH "The Neighborhood Bully" (w/ "Mean Old" MR. McMASTER) in 7:51. A rematch from last week's Bigtime Wrestling in St. Louis, Fat Albert held McMaster at bay and plowed over this former North American champion.
Sixth Match: SCHOOLHOUSE ROCKY pinned SKELETOR in 5:12 to retain the North American heavyweight championship. Rocky screamed at an unseen Terror throughout the match, and was extremely careless while wrestling. Skeletor nearly won the NA belt on several occasions here. SHR regained his wits to polish off Skeletor with the Interjection and 3-count.
Seventh Match: M. KLEATS pinned NON in 6:10. Kleats pulled off a big win here, moving up the standings by disposing of the dangerous heel Kryptonian. The lack of interference made this bout that much more enjoyable to watch.
Kermit attempted to interview SCHOOLHOUSE ROCKY, but Gene West held him back, stating he did not want Rocky to say something he and the PWL Lawyers would regret.
Eighth Match: THE PILLARS OF PAIN (GOLEM and QUARTZ) and THE WHONEE2 MEN wrestled RUFUS VAN PELT and BILLY JO JIVE (w/ "Sweet" SUSIE SUNSET) and THE SEXECUTIONERS (DON JEREMY and BUCK NAKED) to a no-contest in 5:55 when all the teams turned on each other and began fighting amongst themselves. Kermit and Guy noted this match would likely degenerate into something unwatchable. Like all intelligent PWL Announcers, they were indeed correct.
Your Tee-Vee Main Event: THE TERROR (w/ DARK ANGEL) pinned GENERAL ZOD (w/ URSA) in 11:41 to retain the World heavyweight championship. It was revealed that Zod hadn't interfered in the Kleats-Non bout earlier because he was preparing for this huge match right here. Gene West's grand plan of inserting a face into the World championship was thwarted when Non showed up in this match. He was taken down by PWL Security almost immediately after emerging from behind the curtain, but Zod was sufficiently distracted, and Terror went to work dismantling the good General, and scored yet another dubya to hold on to the coveted World strap.
