PWL BIGTIME LIVE!
MONDAY, JUNE 12, 2000 - WHAMMYBURGER
CENTER, KANSAS CITY MISSOURI.
KERMIT THE FROG interviewed World
heavyweight champion THE TERROR, who gloated about his friends
ruling the PWL, with the heavyweight, tag team, and midgets'
championships in the Terror's stable. Terror dared anyone in the
PWL to challenge him for thw World title later in the evening.
Opening Match: AA (JUSTIN TOXICATED
and AL COHOLIC) defeated THE ILLUSTRATORS (TIBOR and HAWLEY) in 3:22
when Justin pinned Tibor.
- Making their PWL debuts were the
Terror-associated AA, and they quickly disposed of the
crowd-pleasing Tibor and Hawley. In true heel fashion,
they badmouthed the Kansas City crowd and threatened to
stay sober the rest of the night, leading to heavy booing
and garbage-throwing from those in attendance.
Second Match: SUPER ELASTIC pinned
TANKA SATCHMO in 4:47 to retain the World cruiserweight
championship.
- Mondo Mbamba was conspicuous by
his absence, and Satchmo appeared dazed and confused
without his manager. That led to a relatively easy title
defense for the new c-weight strapminder.
New North American heavyweight
champion BIG SID SMITH and manager MR. McMASTER were interviewed
by KERMIT THE FROG. Sid claimed to have run COOLEROY out of the
PWL, and accepted Terror's offer of a World title match in the
main event.
Third Match: THE WHO-NEE-2 MEN
defeated FENWICK GRENCHER and BUTCH in 5:34 when BIG HEAD GUY
pinned Butch.
- Making their PWL debut in
bizarre fashion, The Who-Nee-2 Men offered anybody in the
locker room the opportunity to take their place and beat
their pre-determined opponents. The offer was accepted by
Big Head Guy and FAT DUDE, who relied heavily on WN2Men
interference for the win. As stipulated in their pre-match
agreement, this will go in the ooks as an official win
for the Who-Nee-2 Men.
Fourth Match: SCHOOLHOUSE ROCKY
pinned SUPER HEAVY in 7:23 to become #1 contender to the North
American championship.
- "The Schoolhouse Rock
thinks it's damned insulting that the Suits have pushed
him back to the curtain jerker, but it's gonna be sweet,
sweet revenge when the Schoolhouse Rock climbs back up
the ladder to his rightful position in this putrid pit of
a company, and there won't be a damn thing (PWL President
Gene) West or his damned paper champions can do about it."
So sez SHR, and he was able to back up his words with
actions, but Super Heavy pushed him to the limit in doing
so. Sources say the Suits may have been more impressed
with Super Heavy's skills than Schoolhouse Rocky's
bombast.
Fifth Match: FAT ALBERT and GENERAL
ZOD (with URSA) wrestled NON and GRIMACE to a no-contest in 6:19.
- Non introduced Grimace as his
new tag partner, and Grimace promised he would take Non
to "strange new levels" in tag team glory. Fat
Albert and Zod were more than willing to show Non the
error of his ways, and this bout dissolved into a four-way
brawl, with Zod and Non brawling all over the
Whammyburger Center, with Fat Albert and Grimace staying
ringbound for their fisticuffsmanship. Though referee
BURT WEMBLEY had decided to let the destruction continue,
it was the arrival of SETH and HUMAN TORNADO that finally
persuaded him to toss the man out, with Seth and Tornado
attacking Grimace and chasing him out of the building.
KERMIT THE FROG spoke with MONDO
MBAMBA via telephone, and Mbamba promised some earth-shattering
comments at next week's Bigtime Live.
Sixth Match: THE PILLARS OF PAIN (GOLEM
and QUARTZ) defeated IGGY and SIGGI SHROYER to retain the World
tag team championship when Quartz pinned Iggy in 8:41.
- This opened everybody's eyes to
the true tag team brilliance of the Shroyer family, as
they had the champions on the run for the ajority of this
contest. It was by surprisingly quick thinking by the POP
that they were able to hold onto the gold, outwitting the
Shroyers and beating them down in the latter stages with
top notch power moves, before finally securing the win.
Your Main Event: THE TERROR (with
DARK ANGEL and CAP'N CRUNCH) pinned BIG SID SMITH "The
Neighborhood Bully" (with "Mean Old" MR. McMASTER)
in 9:05 to retain the World heavyweight championship.
- Terror enjoyed a slight
advantage as the crowd favorite, not because he once
lived in the KC area, but because he no longer does. He
went on to prove the superiority of the Terror Spike over
the Bully Spike, mainly because Sid wasn't able to slap
his version on the World champeen. Terror celebrated his
win by cavorting with Dark Angel, slapping Cap'n Crunch
around, and making light of Kansas Citians calling it
"pop" instead of "soda." Several of
Kansas City's Finest were barely able to halt an in-stands
riot after that one.
