FEATURED MATCHES:
-
THE PILLARS OF PAIN (GOLEM & QUARTZ) defeated THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS
(BEAUTIFUL BIFF & SWEET SULLY) to attain the number one contenders'
ranking in the tag division. The one week's rest did the Express
well, as they maintained an advantage through much of the match.
However, the POP took control at the six-minute mark in the bout, and never
lost it. With a flurry of quick tags, and double-teaming tactics,
the Pillars dominated the remainder of the match. The bout ended
when Quartz pinned Sully at the 11:19 mark.
-
World tag team champions STRIKE FORCE (BEAST & CARNAGE, managed by
KHAINE) continued their unparalleled dominance of the PWL tag ranks by
administering a thrashing to the Dutch duo HAARLEM HEAT. It was all
Strike Force in the match, attacking HH before the bell rang, and never
letting the Dutchmen get a single offensive move in. After a simple
Eliminator, it was one, two, three. Beast pinned Heat in only 51
seconds to end the "contest."

Likewise, JOE THE GIANT gave THE TERROR the beating of a lifetime.
JTG attacked Terror at the bell and stunned him and the rest of THE PIT
with his arsenal of moves. Bodyslams, headbutts, clotheslines, and
forearms, all made much more vicious by Joe's 7'5", 530-pound appearance.
Terror seemed to be completely finished, both in this match and his PWL
career. Suddenly, World heavyweight champion PLAGUE appeared from
behind the curtains and stood in the middle of the walkway. Joe the
Giant stopped his beating, turned to look at the champ, and suddenly, shockingly,
completely stopped his pummeling of the Terror. Joe flashed a grin,
and bowed his head. Terror got up, took Joe by the head, climbed
to the second ropes, and planted Joe with a DDT. The referee, stunned,
was forced by a cursing Terror to count. One... two... three!
In 8:44, The Terror had done the unthinkable and pinned Joe the Giant.
Terror called for the rest of The Pit to enter the ring. All of them
proceeded to roll Joe the Giant out of the ring, and with all of their
strength, hoisted Joe up on their shoulders and carried him to the dressing
room area. As The Pit passed by Plague, Terror stopped, gave him
the finger, and cryptically informed the champion, "We'll see you at WrestleRama."
-
World and North American champion PLAGUE, already near ringside, jumped
into the ring and announced that because Terror was too chicken to face
him now, he would take his frustrations out on his scheduled opponent.
Sure enough, COOLEROY came out to make a statement. "Plague, you
punk, don't be worryin' 'bout no Terror, boy. If I have any say in
it, one of you turkeys will be facing ME at WrestleRama!" This two
superheavyweights then engaged in an all-out brawl. The ref wisely
decided to let the combatants have at it, and allowed chairs, chains, and
the timekeeper's bell come into play. At one point, Cooleroy seemed
to knocked out the champion with a vicious chairshot to the head.
Cooleroy, deciding that was not enough, climbed to the top turnbuckle for
a Coole-sault. Sure enough, the crafty Plague was only playing possum.
He got up and grabbed hold of Cooleroy before he could leap off the top.
Plague plastered the challenger with a belly-to-back superplex, with Cooleroy
ironically landing head-first on the chair used to blast Plague.
Cooleroy wasn't playing possum , though, as Plague covered him for a well-earned
three count, and another successful title defense for the combined heavyweight
champion.
