We Remember
The red, white and blue flies high,
Because there were others before me;
Who were willing to die,
So our land could grow and be free.
Men and women were far away from home,
They fought battles in distant lands;
But they gave their lives for freedom,
So that our lives could be grand.

On Memorial Day each year,
We remember those precious lives;
They traveled far from home,
They left children and their wives.

We can never forget the price they paid,
Or the sorrow their families shared;
All for the cause of freedom,
All for the dreams they dared.
So fly your flags in honor,
Of those who paid the cost;
Pray for those left behind,
Pray for so much that was lost.
