I Miss You
I miss you in the mornings,
You aren't here to hear God's Word;
I miss you at noon,
Begging for fast food isn't heard
I miss you in the afternoon,
No Legos are laying around;
I miss you at supper,
It's too quiet - there is no sound.
I miss you in the car,
No one tells me how to drive;
I miss you in church,
As for quiet I strive.
I miss you in spring,
As the flowers I begin to plant;
I miss you in summer,
When plans of trips were our rant.
I miss you in the autumn,
When the leaves begin to fall;
You aren't here with me,
To help bag them all.
I miss you in the winter,
When the winds blow cold;
I miss how you decorated,
To celebrate a day of old.
Yes, I miss you every day,
I miss your laugh and smile;
But I have the Lord's promise,
I will see you in a while.
