To reach the port of heaven,
Jesus must be your guide;
In His love and care,
Your soul must always reside.

The winds of circumstance,
Can easily blow us off course;
But with Jesus as our captain,
We have a mighty force.

Waves of pain and despair,
May beat against our weary heart;
But our Captain can steer our souls,
To our home port from the start.

Hurricanes of sorrow,
Bring us to our knees;
But Jesus can get us through the storm,
Give it to Him and you will see.

With Jesus as my captain,
I will safely reach heaven's port;
Jesus is my Lord and Savior,
His blood keeps me from coming up short.

Quote:
"I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand,
as in what direction we are moving: To reach the port of heaven,
we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it
- but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor."
- Oliver Wendel Holmes
