The next few pages is my little tribute to the woman of music including some woman you have never heard before. I hope you enjoy it.
The Bodysnatchers
The Bodysnatchers were one of the first all female ska bands. I don't know much about them, but I know that some of the members of the group formed The Belle Stars who had songs such as, IKO IKO and THE SIGN OF THE TIMES. The only song I know from them is, DO THE ROCK STEADY, which is a great song.
The Modettes
I don't have that much information on this group, but I do like their song, WHITE MICE. I would like to find out more about them, but I can't find any web sites about them.
Lene Lovich
Next to Kate Bush, Lene Lovich is one of my favorite female singers. I don't know why. I really love her songs, LUCKY NUMBER and NEW TOY. Did you know that singer, Thomas Dolby started out in her band before going out on his own. Lene sang back up on his album, GOLDEN AGE OF WIRELESS.
