Bahrain is an Arabic country and a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council. It contains of about 33 Islands and sand backs, located near the west coast of Arabian Gulf, it is linked with the mainland by King Fahad Causeway, from Bahrain's largest island "Manama", (also called "Bahrain" island), to the east coast of Saudi Arabia.
The capital of Bahrain is Manama, a town where the most commercial and governmental activity are located.
The population of the Kingdom of Bahrain is just less than half a million, (about 450,000), and its total land area is not exceeding 700 sq Km.
Due to the large number of small islands, Bahrain's waters area became more than the land area. In my own thought, that could be the reason why it is called Bahrain, ("two seas" in Arabic). Other assuming for that name, is the natural sweet water's streams at the sea bed, however, practically, that caused a lot of sea reclaiming projects on most coasts of the major islands of Bahrain.
