The Mocs (37-23-6) moved two points ahead of Lake Charles in the WPHL's Eastern Division with the victory.

Monroe scored one goal in each period with the first two coming from Matt Cressman and the final tally coming from Dorian Anneck.

Lukas Smital added two assists for Monroe, while goalie Clint Owen made 27 saves for the shutout.

The Mocs will play their final three home games of the regular season, starting Wednesday against Tupelo at 7 p.m.
