The Mocs captured their eight-straight victory over the T-Rex on Saturday with a 3-2 road decision. Monroe is now 8-0-0 against Tupelo this season.

On the penalty front, Monroe and Tupelo combined for 20 penalties, with 13 called on the Mocs. Saturday's win for Monroe came just four days after a 6-2 win for Monroe over Tupelo, where 35 total penalties were called.

On Saturday, Lukas Smital scored two goals, including the game winner at the 12:31 mark of the third period.

Mocs goalie Clint Owen made 35 saves for the win.

Monroe returns home today to take on Odessa at 5 p.m. This is Monroe's final game before the WPHL All-Star game Friday in Amarillo, Texas.
