That said, Bundy was behind the bench Tuesday night replacing coach Jim Burton and leading the GlacierCats to a 3-1 win over Monroe, their first win since Feb. 2.
Burton was home in Canada attending his sister's funeral, leaving Bundy the coaching reins.
"Tonight went very well," Bundy said. I'm not a coach and don't profess to be a coach so I had to fill in under some trying circumstances tonight without our coach."
Arkansas and Monroe traded goals in the second period after going scoreless in the first.
GlacierCats center Rob Giffin and left wing Ben Maidment sandwiched goals around Monroe defenseman Jami Yoder as Arkansas held a 2-1 lead entering the third period.
Giffins scored a power play goal on a cross-ice pass from defenseman Brian Stacy, who had two assists during the game. Giffin took a pass from his right and buried the puck past Mocs goalie Clint Owen, who couldn't rotate to his left quick enough.
"Stacey made a good play to come down the wall and hit me with the pass," Giffins said. "He passed me the puck, and the back door was opened up for me and I buried it."
Yoder scored his goal in the same manner, taking a pass from forward Bill McKay and burying the puck past Christian Soucy.
The tie didn't last long, as Maidment circled into the Monroe zone and went top-self past Owen to give Arkansas the lead for good.
The GlacierCats led despite being outshot over the first two periods 22-12. This includes a 12-1 difference in shots after the first period.
"Coming into the locker room we gave Soucy a good thank you," Giffin said. "He held us in there tonight. Monroe always plays us hard everynight."
Again Monroe had numerous chances but couldn't convert. And again the Mocs dropped another home decision.
Monroe is 15-11-3 in the Snake Pit, while it is 16-7-2 away from home.
"It really bothers me the fact that we're losing at home," Monroe coach Brian Curran said. "Why it's such a different team on the road than at home I have no idea. We're going to address that today as to why we're not playing hockey at home like we do on at home like we do on the road."
A Monroe turnover in the third gave Arkansas even more of a cushion. Giffin took a turnover on a Mocs power play chance and went end-to-end on Owen.
He buried the puck between the Monroe goalies legs and into the back of the net for a 3-1 lead. It was Giffin's sixth shorthanded goal of the season.
"We had a team meeting on Sunday to address our funk," Bundy said. "We've got a lot of talent, and we have to get back on track. Tonight was step one to doing that."
