Arkansas bounces Mocs

The Monroe Moccasins limped back home from their five-game road trip with a 4-2, penalty-filled road loss to Arkansas on Friday.

The Moccasins (13-8-1) wrapped up their week-long trek 2-3, but they lost the last two games.

On Friday, it was the GlacierCats (9-8-1) who picked up their third win in four games over Monroe this season.

After a scoreless first period, Arkansas jumped out to a 2-0 lead, before Monroe's Dorian Anneck evened things up at 2-2 with two goals.

However, this was all Arkansas goalie Christian Soucy would give up on the night. Soucy stopped 43 of Monroe's 45 shots.

Near the end of the second period, Tim Findlay put the GlacierCats up for good with a short-handed goal.

Arkansas added a power-play goal in the third period to put the game away.

Mocs goalie Clint Owen had 26 saves in a losing effort.

The two teams got very physical as they combined on 24 penalties for 80 minutes. Monroe had 13 miscues for 46 minutes, including Kelvin Solari's 10-minute game misconduct after a third-period fight. It was his second brawl of the game.

The Moccasins return home today for rematch with Arkansas at the Monroe Civic Center at 7 p.m.
