The Moccasins' team bus broke down on its way to Little Rock for the 7 p.m. game, forcing the start of the game to be delayed until 9:27 p.m. The wait didn't seem to have any effect on the Mocs as they lit up Barton Coliseum with a 7-3 victory to end a seven-game road losing streak to Arkansas.
Monroe improved its record to 20-10-1 and its Eastern Division lead to four points over Shreveport. The Mocs have now wom four straight games overall and six of their last seven.
Monroe general manager Joe Demingos said the bus lost air pressure two hours into the trip, 10 miles outside of Monticello, Ark. The team then called Mayo Tours in West Monroe for another bus. As the team and coaches watched a movie on the broken-down bus, the new bus arrived at around 6:45 p.m. to finish the trip to Little Rock.
The team finally arrived at Barton Coliseum at around 8:45 p.m. after going the wrong way on a highway in Little Rock.
