Linda Tripp was born in 1950 and raised in New Jersey. During her schoolyears she went by the nickname "GUS", because of her height, her wide shoulders and her unfortunate nose.

Monica worked with Linda Tripp at her time in the Pentagon, and she was supposed to be Monica's friend. Monica thought she was, and trusted her. She told Linda Tripp about her relationship with Bill Clinton.
