Summer Pastimes
Summer is a fun time, but sometimes it gets boring. Here are some things to do in the summer:
1. Build a treehouse. Almost any strong tree can hold a treehouse, even if it doesn't have good
branch placement for building. You just have to be creative. Make it multilevel, or make it
camouflage to blend in with the tree.
2. Go exploring. Explore woods and fields near you.
When exploring caves, bring adults for safety reasons.
3. Go swimming. Many
neighborhoods have pools, but if yours doesn't, then almost ALL cities have pools somewhere. The
cost is usually under $5.00.
4. Join a team. During the summer, ther are usually baseball
teams, and sometimes soccer, football, and even swim teams to join. You can meet lifelong friends
and develop teamwork.
5. Go to camp. There are many camps all over the US, and though
some are expensive, church camps are cheap, and camps are a whole lot of fun.
6. Spend a
week by your self with your grandparents. Grandparents often love to have all the company that
they can get, and will let you stay at their houses for a week for free. They can take you around
their town, and they often let you eat at a restaraunt, though most grandmas make wonderful food.
7.Go places around your town. The movies, the Zoo, the bowling alleys, the miniature golf
places, the go kart tracks, the museums, the parks, the library, the caves, the mall, the pool, the
theme parks, and the stores around you are all great places to spend some time.
8. Throw a
party. A party will let your friends know that you haven't forgotten them, and encourage them to do
fun stuff with you.
