Gym Reimbursements were dispursed for all gym sheets/results turned in no later than 2/1/2000.
Next Meeting was scheduled for 7pm Sun. Feb. 27th, tentatively at St. Elizabeth, Crestwood
Topics Discussed
- Instruct coaches NOT to sign the sheet after a game until scores are entered.
For one game, the incorrect team was declared the winner.
- Two schedule adjustments have been performed to correct teams playing out of their league.
- Roster and ID checks should be done for every game.
If games are running late, IDs and rosters should be compared at a minimum.
- The scorebook should be completed from the roster by the scorekeeper only.
This should NEVER be done by the coach.
- Check the back of the Coach's ID for this year's basketball clinic sticker.
- For 4th grade, cards for the players are not required.
But a valid roster must be used
- No one should write on a roster that has been certified by the district.
- To add players to the roster, a supplemental roster should be completed.
The time for roster changes has passed unless an emergency situation exists.
- ONLY
- For ALL B and C teams in grades 5-8, the Tom Elder Memorial Tournament is held at the end of the season.
It is a single elimination tournament open to everyone.
- Since fourth grade is instructional, there are no further games after the league finishes.
- St. Bridget reported that Manchester United Methodist gym is too small for 7th grade C boys.
Consideration in scheduling younger teams (4/5) next year will be given.
- Also, JFK gym was reported to be too small for grades 6 and beyond.
- Most of the schedule completes in 10 weeks.
Some fourth grade teams play in the eleventh week.
Some fourth grade teams have a week off before week 11 and one team has two weeks off.
This allows more time for the post-season tournament.
