That did it. I was no longer hyper. But I didn't want people to notice so I acted, calm and with respect for Hanson. I guess Jess noticed my short depression because she smiled at me. So I smiled back.
*TAYLOR*Boy, this had turned out better than I had hoped! They didn't scream, and were treating us like normal people and not celebrities! And to think that I was worried. Ha!
"Hey, a little while ago we over heard you talking about doing a concert today? Is that true?" I asked Jessica. Bianca and Lolo had just picked up their hot dogs and were casually eating them. I felt bad about having interrupted their lunch. But they didn't seem to mind.
"Well, actually, that is true. In about 2 hours at noon we are going to do a free concert for the Los Angeles Mission. Today they are serving hot meals for the homeless and we were asked to play a 3 song set!" She cheerfully announced.
"Oh yeah? Cool! Can we come and watch?!" Zac asked. As he ate a french fry that Lolo had offered him.
"Yeah! That'd be great! But are you sure that you don't have anything else to do?" Lolo asked.
"Nope! We don't have a thing to do for the next week! But we are leaving on Wednesday to go back to Tulsa for Christmas." Ike explained. I couldn't wait to be home. But we had to stay in L.A. for the next 2 days because mom and dad had some business to take care of.
"Hey, I have an idea, why don't you come down with us and perform too! The last band that they had, 'Green Smoke & Fangs' had to cancel on short notice and they need another band! Do you want the job?!" Jessica asked us as she handed Ike a business card for the Mission that had a phone # and address on it.
"Yeah, I guess so. I'll be right back, I just gotta go ask mom." Ike said as he got up and walked back to the dining room where our family was.
*ZAC*Well this was cool. An autographed CD, new friends, and a concert all in the same day! I hope mom says yes!
"So, what is the mission like?" I asked them.
"Well, from the last time I was there about 2 years ago, there were lots of poor people, celebrities, and t.v. cameras. And lots of volunteers helping to make those people's day a little brighter." Jessica said as she pushed her half eaten hot dog towards the middle of the table signaling that she had had enough.
"Sounds fun!" Tay exclaimed. Just then Ike came walking out of the room and back to the table.
"She said yes! She just called them and made all the arrangements! She's going to go down right now and drop off all of our instruments! And she said that if we wanted to hang our the rest of the day, we could! But we have to be back at the hotel by 7:30 p.m.!" Ike said as he handed Tay and Zac some money. "And this is so we can go shopping or something."
*JESSICA*"Well I guess we had better be going now." Lolo said as she started to put her back-pack on.
"Yeah we had better go. We are going to go shopping on Hollywood Boulevard. You're welcome to come with us if you want to!" I said as I stood up to put my back-pack on. Bianca did the same.
"Yeah sure, we'd love to!" Zac exclaimed as he began walking towards the stairs.
