When we turned around the corner, what we saw just tore at my heart. There were probably about 2,000 homeless people crammed into this ally, and more were coming and wrapping around the corner waiting for a hot meal! Most of them have probably not had a meal in a few days, or even weeks! There were old people, and even little children that were in the lines for food! I just wanted to cry at the site!
"Man, I have never seen anything like this in my life!" Tay declared as he turned and headed back for the tent.
"I know! Well, I'll bet that some good music will help brighten their day." I said as I followed him back into the tent. The rest followed in silence.
*TAYLOR*Never in my life have I ever imagined so much suffering and hunger! I felt like I had to do something for all those poor people! At least they would have food today. It did make me feel good that so many people had pitched in their time and money to help those in need.
"Man, I wish that there was something I could do for all those people!" I said as I picked a seat near the opened flap in the tent that served as a door.
*JESSICA*I could tell that Tay was upset about all those people. I was too, but there was not much anybody could do.
"Tay, it's just a way of life. Some people are just not as fortunate to live in homes or have food everyday. But if you really want to help, you would get up on that stage, and give the best and heartfelt performance you can!" I encouraged as I sat down next to him and put my hand on his shoulder to try to comfort him. Then I looked over my shoulder to see Ike, Zac, Binkies, and Lolo standing by the door way. I could tell that they felt the same way Tay felt. Then Tay looked up with a tear in his eye.
"Ya know what Jessica, you're right! We should give these people a great concert! The best darn concert they ever saw!" Tay said as I heard the old Tay coming back. The fun loving, give it all you got, MMMBopin' Tay we all know and love! Then I glanced back over at the others, and they too were starting to get revved up! Their old selves were back and ready for action!
