What I think!

Who´s the freak...?

Me on Kristinas swing

Maybe it is time to introduce myself a little...the little Duvemåla-freak behind this homepage.

My name is Anna and I am living in Stockholm, Sweden. I have always loved musicals, especially Les Miserables and Phantom of the opera. I have seen Les Miserables in London 1994 and 1999 I have also seen muscials like Miss Saigon (London), Little Shop of Horrors (Stockholm), Sound of Music (Stockholm), West Side Story (Amateur Theatre and at the Gothenburg Opera), Hair (Amateur Theatre and Parkteatern). So to start with I have always loved musicals!

But then a friend of mine told me of a new all-swedish musical written by Björn and Benny the former ABBA members, it was based on the novel by the great author Vilhelm Moberg. I didn´t think that much about it at first, but then I started to get interested in the history of emigration. I did a school project about the swedish emigration and borrowed the CDs with Kristina från Duvemåla and borrowed the books by Moberg at the same time...and in the summer of 1997 I was stuck! I cried with Kristina, I laughed with her, and most important of all, I was really moved by this extra-ordinary musical! And I was so happy because the musical was on it´s way from Malmö and Göteborg to Cirkus in Stockholm where I live! Over 20 000 people was waiting in lines to buy the tickets when they started to sell them, and I was a very happy girl when I got hold of a ticket to March 4th 1998. And now I have seen it 6 great times including the final, stunning performance were I saw both Björn and Benny and the director Lars Rudolfsson. It felt both sad and good to be there, I wouldn´t have wanted to miss it for the world!

I have now been to London, and I saw Mamma Mia, some day soon I might create a mini-page about it, but not yet. You just have to believe me when I say it was a great musical!
