Concert Review

Saturday, March 7,1998

On Saturday March 7th, 1998, my friends and I attended the Toronto, Opera House Gob concert. FUck, it was a wicked-ass concert. We were kinda freaking that we wouldnt get tickets cuz they had sold out at TicketMaster but luckly they were selling tix at the door for 10 bucks (even cheaper than expected cuz at Ticket Master they were 13 bucks, we save 3 bucks, yeah) We waited in line for like 2 hours. We met some pretty fucked up people. The doors opened at 8 pm and coat check was mandatory. That was pretty shitty cuz it was like a riot, with all these people getting cash together and all.

The show was supposed to start at 9, but it started around 8, so that was pretty cool. The first band was pure shit. They were called Cotton Mouth, or something like that. but shit, they fucken sucked, it was kindof a pathetic attempt at being original. Just picture some fat short spanish guy, singing into a bull horn. fuck, but we went to use the phone(thank god), and i gotta complain, why is there only one phone??? hello! The second band was called, shit, i dont even know what they were called, the third band was slacker. I guess they were ok, the guy in the atari shirt was pretty cute.

Then Gob came out, fuck the crowd was pumpin, and sweaty and worked up. Gob was wicked. They are amazing in concert, unlike other bands. The place was vibrating with energy. I cant tell you what they played cuz i cant remember, but it was really good. some of the people were disgusting, like this chick, who was like bleeding, shit, she reak of sweat and bodily fluids. Everybody was doing that punk dance, i dont know what its called, but if u do, tell me. While wating in line before the concert, this kid was handing out kazoos, or gazoos, i dont know what theyre called, but anyway, during the concert everyone started using them, it was wicked. wow, that was one of they best concerts i've ever been to.

Some of the people were fucked like the people we met in line. Like that dude Chris, fuck that guy was funny. He was like dissing all the opening bands. And his friend jesse was a piss. Overall, the only shitty part about the concert was at the end when everybody rushed to get their coats from the coat check. It was a goddamn riot, and they crusty hoe who was "incharge" was like shoving everyone towards the wall. But we got out alive. Well, thats all I have to say.
