JSI Music
Kansas City, MO

Spawned from the depths of Midtown Kansas City, Cross Country Felons' music is an intense display of raw energy and an utter disregard for the presumption that rock is dead. The trio consists of Horatio Ignatz, Rod Ram Rod, and Timmy the Wrench. Pseudonyms aside, Cross Country Felons were formed in early 1999. The three out of towners took Kansas City by surprise when they unleashed their unique brand of music in a string of local dates. After earning some much needed cash, CCF recorded and produced their first release "PROHIBIDO" in three days. Then after another local go around, they hit the road in support, playing cities from Seattle, WA to Providence, RI. After coming home, Cross Country Felons were awarded the Klammy for 2000 Best New Band at the Kansas City / Lawrence Area Music Awards. CCF then spent the spring and summer touring and writing new music, nurturing their roots to continue to broaden their already diverse portfolio of songs. They are now currently in the process of finishing the recording of their next album. Cross Country Felons. It's MUSIC. And now for the silly stuff, old bands, inluences, etc.... Perpetually running from the Ecuadorian Government, Horatio Ignatz did stints with One Pound Swedish Fish and Red Rum, hding underground in the Northeast keeping his cover as an exchange student in an undisclosed music school. Shunned as the only smoker in his choral group, Horatio listened to Slayer, Tiffany, The Who and Bach, helping create his diverse guitar and vocal stylings. Rod Ram Rod grew up on the mean streets of Fairfield, Connecticut. At the age of 18 he moved to Miami to pursue his dream of a career in pornography. Realizing his horribly unendowed penis would not cut the mustard (he lived on mustard and crackers for 5 years), he joined the South Florida band Censorship of Peace. C.O.P. regularly played throughout Florida, Georgia, and the Northeast. After C.O.P. gave up its guns, Rod disappeared for awhile, resurfacing with One Pound Swedish Fish and his old pen pal from Ecuador, Horatio. Rod never fit in as the only Amish kid in the big city. The rough life he was destined to lead influenced him with such artists as Neil Diamond, Jeremiah the Amish flutist, Bjork and Celtic Frost. This makes his bass style like an evil Spawn of Cliff Burton and Geezer Butler. Hiding from the Swedish mob after he swiped a bottle of Scotch from the Godfather himself, Timmy the Wrench joined the Federal Witness Protection Program after backing out of a safe-cracking operation before it was too late. The bandits swore they'd kill him as he escaped their underground hideaway, but he got away with perfect timing. To ease his dependency on shit jobs and petty crime, Timmy has played all over the Midwest in such bands as The Beenkeys, The Sluggos, Bottom Feeder, Blue Grass Spiders, Jones 6 and Boot Hill. Lots of classical, bluegrass, punk rock and anger at the establishment allowed Timmy to develop a frenetic drumming style that is as melodic as it is rhythmic. Timmy met Horatio and Rod while all three did time for jaywalking. They immediately decided to form the band and keep up the front. Cross Country Felons. It's Music.
