This particular robeast had a rather short time in the spotlight although it never battled Voltron. Simply refered to as "The Blue Robeast", this reptilian looking fiend was the top fighter in the arena at this point of time and enjoyed terrifying and consequently killing slaves, as well as a good chunk of raw meat.
Episode 3: A Ghost and Four Keys Episode 4: The Missing Key
The first of the robeasts to battle Voltron. This particular robeast seems to have undergone a significant change once powered-up (see pictures at right). Bat-Fish would seem to be a suitable name . . . In any case, Batty here did well enough against the four lions, but didn't last a chance once the fifth key was found and Voltron was formed. However, this robeast did manage to live through two entire episdoes; that oughta count for something.
Demise: Killed by the Blazing Sword.
Episode 5: Princess Joins Up
Oddly enough, this strange metal-head may have been one of the most challenging adversaries for the Voltron Force. This baddie was chosen after having brutally defeated all other robeasts in the arena -- even defeating three opponents at once. He had Voltron down for a time between his souped-up powers (thanks to Haggar), rapidly growing body spikes, and nifty twin swords.
Demise: Blazing Sword.
Episode 6: The Right Arm of Voltron
"The Blue Fiend" as Haggar calls him, was left out in the wilderness of Doom by Haggar until she had need of him. Finally finding him in a boneyard, she decides to let him loose on the people of Arus while she finds a way to take out one of the members of the Voltron Force -- with Coba's help too, of course. Even though this monster was supposed to be one of the most vicious Haggar ever created, he obviously didn't have much to speak of in the brains or fire-retardant department.
Demise: Falls into a lava pit after being distracted by Lance/Red Lion and being pushed by the rest of the team from behind -- really, how dumb can you get?
Episode 7: The Lion Has New Claws
With Sven out of the way Haggar and Yurak see their opportunity to destroy Arus and the rest of the Voltron Force. Princess Allura however, decides to fly the blue lion herself. Doom seemed to have the upper hand and would win the day after Coran ties the princess up in her room. The space mice unfortunately ruined the day by freeing her.
Demise: Blazing Sword.
Episode 8: The Stolen Lion
Prince Bokar arrived just in time to save Princess Allura's life. . .which left Lance quite suspicious. Coran and Allura decided to make Bokar the pilot of the blue lion, but he kidnapped Allura once he had the key and he had been found out. Unfortunately for him, that blasted King Alfor made it so he couldn't fly the lion and he was forced to transform into his true form (of a giant man/cobra) and fight Voltron.
Demise: Blazing Sword.
Episode 9: A Pretty Spy
This battle begins with a doom ship being shot down over the mountains of Arus by other Doom Scorpion ships. Hunk races to the crash site and finds a young woman with a planet Doom slave tatoo unconscious in the wreckage. Of course, they take Twyla back to the Castle of Lions and try to get her healthy again, but what do ya know, she and her brother made a deal to destroy Arus in return for the freedom for all of the slaves. "The Claw Beast" is Twyla's brother. His favorite weapon seems to be a ball and chain, but that doesn't help him too much either.
Demise: Yep, you guessed it, the Blazing Sword.
Episode 10: Secret of the White Lion
Haggar's scheme this time around was to give Princess Allura nasty nightmares that also informed her that her father had been reborn as a white lion. The lion of course, was one of Haggar's pets, but the princess fell for it anyway. In the end, had he not decided to save the witch from drowning (thanks to the clumsiness of Coran and Nanny in the Blue Lion) Doom would have won the day. This robeast was called "Loathesome Lion" by Haggar. Heh. This is probably my all-time favorite robeast as well . . . even if it did have the strange "lion's mane" attack . . .
Demise: Blazing Sword.
Episode 11: Surrender
Not a whole lot to say about this one. Haggar sent a storm of apparently highly flammable red rain to destory Arus and the Voltron Force. Things were going along pretty smoothly until Yurak decided to trade his hostages for the members of the Voltron Force. Pidge had traded his uniform with a young girl and hid in his Green Lion to save the team and the villagers, resulting in Yurak releasing this beast.
Demise: Blazing Sword . . . but not before trying out of bunch of other nifty weapons.
Episode 12: Bad Birthday Party
Here we are on Planet Nemon getting ready for Zarkon's birthday when a young slave escapes and makes it to Arus to enlist the aid of Voltron. Just as Zarkon ordered his nephew to torture a bunch of slaves, Voltron showed up to save the day. These twins were ugly and didn't last long, but they did distract Voltron long enough for Zarkon, Haggar, and Yurak to escape.
Demise: Both died by the Blazing Sword; one right after the other.
