"Big R" was known for wrestling far more conservatively than many of his counterparts. It wasn't that he didn't have the strength or skill needed; he was just always more interested in getting the job done than being flashy or having a daredevil image. Russell was a key factor in what is now known as the "Hometown Massacre" on the fateful date of August 23rd. Russell's various connections and friendships in the business also helped carry him to AGCSWF European and US title reigns.
