Results From the 12/4/2000 AGCSWF Live Event-- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The 12/4/2000 live AGCSWF show began with a special challenge tag team match, as the reigning Television champion Ryan Estes and his friend Chad Ehrmann made their way to the squared circle. Moments later, Clay Fergusen and Andrew McShane, the man who had defeated Chad for the Lightheavyweight title, came out and immediately started to brawl with their opponents. There was a lot of bad blood going into this contest, and Ryan dominated Clay in the early goings with a flurry of punches followed by a drop toehold and a gut-wrench suplex. In the meantime, Andrew had clotheslined Chad over the ropes, then nailed an out-of-the-ring suicide dive which flattened both competitors. Ryan whipped Clay off the ropes and went for a clothesline, but Clay ducked under, then grabbed the champ from behind and delivered a crunching reverse neckbreaker. After dropping an elbow onto Ryan's chest for a two-count, Clay added to the steady stream of punishment by locking on a camel clutch. He barely had enough time to apply the submission hold, however, before Chad returned to action and dropkicked him in the chest, sending him flying backwards into a heap on the mat. Infuriated, Clay bounced Chad off the opposite ropes, hit a Samoan drop, and made room for Andrew to take the former Lightheavyweight champion out for good with a standing tornado DDT. When Ryan got to his feet, he found himself being tandem suplexed by the duo, at which point Clay set Ryan up and launched into a double-underhook powerbomb. This allowed Andrew to climb to the top rope, land a devastating high moonsault, and roll to the side so that Clay could score the pinfall victory. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next, Dane Gammon showed up for his singles match against E. Haere. Dane had emerged the victor in a situation involving three other combatants the previous week to become a major contender for the TV title, and now he was putting it up for grabs as one-half of the Haere Brothers cleared the ropes. But E. Haere had brought his partner N. Haere along with him, so it wasn't long before Dane ended up having to deal with two men rather than just one. Using swarm tactics, the Haere Brothers forced Dane to the mat and repeatedly stomped on his midsection. Dane fought back as best he could by hitting a double low blow, then clotheslining E. Haere and delivering a big boot to his brother. N. Haere left the ring and grabbed hold of a steel chair, which he tossed into the squared circle. Dane got to the weapon first and promptly smashed it over E. Haere's forehead, daring N. Haere to try something else with him. He then lifted E. Haere to a standing position and hit a pumphandle slam, but N. Haere broke up the cover and received a piledriver for his efforts. This made it easy for Dane to pin E. Haere a second time and walk away the winner. As the referee signaled for the bell, Dane headed backstage to a mixed reaction from the fans, who weren't sure whether to boo or cheer him as a result of his affiliation with the hated Matt Roberts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The arena suddenly filled with raucous cheers when the fans heard Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac's theme music being played and caught sight of the World Heavyweight champion standing at the top of the entrance ramp. Chad produced a microphone and said, "Adam Taylor, you've really been getting on my nerves as of late. First, you did everything within your power to prevent me from gaining a shot at your World title. Then when I finally did beat you for the belt, you acted as though you'd repented and changed your ways. But I guess we all know what happened two weeks ago, when you interfered in my match against Bryce Aaron Curtis and attacked both of us without provocation. Well, I've had it up to here with you. If you really want a title shot that badly, all you have to do is ask, instead of committing random acts of violence against people like Candie Hansen." Chad appeared to be on the verge of saying more, but he was interrupted by Adam's music as the former champ stepped out from behind the curtain. "Listen up, Chad, ol' buddy," Adam began. "If you're serious about givin' me a title shot, I'd be more than happy to accept, 'cuz everyone knows that I should still be the champion right now. And as far as me attackin' people goes, I was just tryin' to prove a point. I may have crossed the line when I gave Candie a rollin' DDT, but she shouldn'ta been gettin' involved in my business. I don't care what anyone thinks of me, though, as long as I have a chance to win my World title back. So if you're willin' to put the belt on the line, let's do it next week, 'cuz my Christmas gift to you this year is gonna be takin' that title off your hands for you." "You've got a deal, punk," Chad responded. "Just keep in mind, though, that from now on, if you even show your face at ringside during one of my matches, I'll have little choice but to beat your ugly face in. I used to have a lot of respect for you as a wrestler, until you revealed your true personality. In seven days, I'm going to wipe the floor with you and prove once and for all that I'm a better champion than you could ever possibly hope to be." With that, Chad dropped his mic and retreated to the backstage area, leaving a dumbfounded Adam standing by his lonesome. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peter Hartman, the AGCSWF European champion, and his cliquemates Grant Ankrom and "Big R" Russell Davis sauntered to the ring in preparation for Peter's title defense against Crash. When Crash made his way out, he was accompanied by Fast Eddie and Brandon "Brando" Cowles, although because of their past history, the latter superstars spent as much time cautiously eyeing one another as they did their archenemies. Peter started things off with a couple of stiff punches and kicks, then was unceremoniously dumped on his head when Crash hit a gorilla press-slam. The champion regained the advantage with a rising knee and a vertical suplex, but Crash kicked out at two and delivered a back body-drop off the ropes. Grant jumped up onto the ring apron and attempted to distract Peter's opponent, then was pulled down again by Fast Eddie. In retaliation, Grant clocked Eddie with his Intercontinental title belt and was assaulted by Brandon when he turned around. While Brandon and Grant engaged in a fistfight, "Big R" surprised Crash by denting a snow shovel over the challenger's head. Having been knocked completely senseless, Crash was unable to defend himself as Russell and Peter gingerly placed him on the top turnbuckle. Peter then landed a back suplex all the way to the mat, capturing the pinfall and retaining his championship yet again. Afterwards, Peter fled the squared circle along with Grant and Russell, causing an angry Brandon to take out his frustrations on Eddie by hurling him into the steel ring steps. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ruudboy and Johnny Lively were set to defend their AGCSWF Tag Team titles against "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison in the next bout. Ruudboy and Johnny had yet to even be defeated as a team, but their opponents were hoping that they would be the ones to score the crucial pinfall and win the straps. Jared and Ruudboy tagged in to start the match, and Jared immediately laced into his adversary with a series of uppercuts and a hip-toss off the ropes. Ruudboy tagged out to Johnny, who speared "Action Jim" to the mat, then nailed him with a running leg lariat and tagged his partner right back into the fracas. After hitting a fistdrop for a one-count, Ruudboy stepped back, hit a bulldog from behind, and made the cover for another nearfall. In desperation, Jared crawled towards his corner and attempted to tag Dustin, but Ruudboy held onto his legs and dragged him back to the center of the ring. "Action Jim" fired his foot directly into his opponent's face, then scoopslammed him and was just about to tag his partner when "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts, Justin Penkert, and Chris "Chrispytoast" Burros stormed the ring. While Justin and Chrispy brawled with "Triple-D," Tyler removed the air from Johnny's lungs with a belly-to-belly suplex, then delivered a "tombstone" piledriver to Jared. Ruudboy logged the three-count, but for someone who had just successfully defended the Tag titles on behalf of his team, he didn't look very happy. Following the match, Ruudboy lifted Tyler into position and hit his Ruuditude finishing maneuver, as Dustin helped Jared out of the ring and warned Chrispy and Justin not to come any closer. Chrispy pulled Tyler out of harm's way, and the three friends escaped backstage. Ruudboy and Johnny then turned around and glanced at "Triple-D," who looked at them in a manner which seemed to suggest that he and Jared weren't done with the champions yet. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Triple Threat champion, Razor, made his way to the ring for a title defense. His scheduled opponents, "Big R" Russell Davis and Nathan Hall, both came out to their respective theme songs, with Russell being flanked by Peter Hartman and Derek Ankrom. While Peter and Derek stationed themselves on the outside, Nathan worked the champion over with a combination of punches and kicks. Razor eventually got tired of this treatment and fired a dropkick into Nathan's face. He was then flattened by a clothesline courtesy of "Big R," who quickly locked on a Dragon sleeper from behind in an attempt to make Razor submit early. But Nathan took Russell's leg out with a chop-block, then lifted him up and drove him to the mat with a back suplex. Nathan made the cover, from which "Big R" kicked out at two; a slightly annoyed Razor then caught Nathan with several chest slaps and a headscissors takedown for a nearfall of his own. Following a reverse DDT, the champ tried once more to end the match, but Russell broke up the count and decimated Razor with a powerslam off the ropes. Nathan rolled out of the squared circle and collapsed to the arena floor, at which point Derek and Peter assaulted him with various weapons until he was a bruised and bloody mess with no hope of continuing. Razor suddenly realized what was going on, delivered a facebuster to Russell, and got a running start towards the ropes. The champion catapulted his body through the air and hit Peter and Derek with a somersault splash, then returned to the ring and covered "Big R" for a very close two-count. Before Russell's stablemates had a chance to recover and vent their anger on him, Razor nailed the challenger with a vertical suplex into a driver and finally pulled off the victory. Immediately afterwards, he took his title belt and forced his way into the crowd, making a hasty exit and staying far away from Grant Ankrom's glorified street gang. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Although Fast Eddie was in no condition to wrestle a "hardcore-style" match, he was just about to do exactly that as he stumbled down the entrance ramp for his Hardcore title bout against Matt Roberts. Matt had already completed his trademark pre-match ritual of setting up a folding table in the ring, and as soon as Eddie made his presence known, Matt grabbed him and pitched him into the nearest corner. He then unloaded with several hard kicks to Eddie's gut and nailed him with a shoulderblock as well. It was plain to see that Eddie's tank was on empty as Matt held him in the air, dropped him throat-first across the ropes, and finished him off by chokeslamming him through the table for the inevitable three-count. As Matt prepared to leave the ring, Nathan Bonner sprinted to the squared circle and drew the champion into a fight, hoping to rile Matt up enough so that he might grant Nathan another title shot in the near future. Moments later, "Big R" Russell Davis appeared out of nowhere with his trusty snow shovel, which he used to render an unsuspecting Nathan unconscious. Before Russell could do any additional damage, Matt kicked the shovel out of his hands and wasted no time in chokeslamming him, too. Just like the week before, Matt had proved his dominance in the worst way by brutalizing everyone within reach. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ For the second time that evening, Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac appeared at the top of the entrance ramp with his World championship belt around his waist. Chad was planning to put the strap on the line against Brandon "Brando" Cowles, and many insiders were predicting that this could turn out to be the titleholder's toughest defense yet. Once Chad was in the ring, Brandon came out and didn't hesitate to lock up with his adversary as soon as the bell was sounded. The two competitors traded power moves back and forth during the first few minutes of the match, until Brandon took control with a one-armed release belly-to-belly suplex off the ropes for a two-count. He then stomped on Chad a few times, picked him up, and launched into a standing faceplant followed by a backbreaker. With Chad basically out on his feet, Brandon was able to place him on the top turnbuckle and deliver a fallaway slam that punished him as well as his opponent. Chad looked to be achingly close to losing the World title, but he wasn't about to give up without a fight. He somehow managed to pull himself from the squared circle before Brandon could try to pin him, and when the challenger chased him outside, he reversed an Irish whip and propelled Brandon into an impromptu meeting with the steel ring steps. Neither man was in very good shape as they brawled with one another, although it didn't seem to have any effect on their respective intensity levels. Back in the ring, Chad further disoriented his adversary by hitting several different suplexes in a row, which lead to another nearfall. The champion decided that it was about time to wrap things up, so he placed Brandon into position for his finisher, a back suplex into a sit-down Ligerbomb. However, Brandon apparently had a small amount of energy left, which he used to punch Chad in the gut and try for his own finishing move, the brainbuster suplex. As Chad's feet were lifted off the ground, he frantically maneuvered his body and wriggled out of Brandon's grip, touching the ground directly behind him and hitting a deadly German suplex. Already exhausted beyond belief, Brandon simply could not kick out in time, and Chad retained his belt by an extremely narrow margin. The show came to a gradual close as Chad then stood to his feet, ignoring Brandon's lifeless body in favor of looking towards the entranceway. He expected Adam Taylor to make an unscheduled appearance as he had been doing on a regular basis in Chad's matches, but for the time being, Adam had chosen to remain out of sight if not out of mind. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ List of AGCSWF Champions as of December 4, 2000: World Heavyweight: Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac Intercontinental: Grant Ankrom European: Peter Hartman Triple Threat: Razor Hardcore: Matt Roberts Tag Team: Ruudboy and Johnny Lively Television: Ryan Estes Lightheavyweight: Andrew McShane ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ All contents are property of the AGCS Wrestling Federation copyright 1999-2009.
