~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Results From the 11/27/2000 AGCSWF Live Event-- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The fans exploded into wild cheers to kick off the 11/27/2000 live AGCSWF show, as Crash's entrance music played over the loudspeakers. Crash and his friend Fast Eddie were scheduled to take on the Intercontinental champion Grant Ankrom along with the European champ Peter Hartman in a tag team grudge match. Grant and Peter had already made their way to the ring accompanied by a loud chorus of boos, but before the bell could even be sounded, Crash raised a microphone to his lips and began to speak. "Being gone from the AGCSWF for the past two months or so gave me a lot of time to plan out my strategy for tearing each and every member of Grant Ankrom's stable limb from limb. And Grant, let me tell you something: now that I'm back for good, I'm going to devote my career to making sure you never get a chance to injure anyone else like you did to me." Crash waited for the noise of the crowd to subside, then added, "Right now I'm not interested in anything else but revenge, and you guys are gonna learn why it's never a good idea to mess with me. After we beat you here tonight, Eddie and I are going to make sure that both of you lose your titles as soon as possible, because you've held the belts for way too long now. Speaking of my protege, Eddie, I'm sure you have a few things you'd like to say." Crash handed the mic to Eddie, who closed the interview by saying, "I've had people ask me why I turned my back on Brandon Cowles a few weeks ago. Well, the reason is because I knew the only person who could help me out in my war against Grant's clique was Crash. At the same time, though, I don't have anything against Brandon personally; it was just a choice that I decided to make, and I don't regret it one bit." Having grown weary of listening to their opponents talk, Grant and Peter crossed the squared circle and attacked them. Peter kicked Eddie in the groin, then clotheslined him over the ropes and followed him outside the ring, while Grant and Crash brawled back and forth until the Intercontinental champ got the upper hand with a hip-toss and a dropkick to the chest. Peter hurled Eddie shoulder-first into the steel ring steps, then repeatedly smashed his adversary's head into the ringpost. With Eddie temporarily dazed, Peter jumped into the ring and helped Grant subdue Crash with a tandem suplex. It was then that Brandon "Brando" Cowles sprinted down the entrance ramp and dented a steel chair over the foreheads of Grant and Peter, causing the fans to once again rise to their feet. As Brandon left the squared circle, Crash rolled over and pinned Grant to capture the victory for his team. What Crash didn't notice was that Brandon had laid Eddie out with the chair as well, then disappeared to the backstage area, leaving Derek Ankrom and "Big R" Russell Davis to pick up the pieces of their stablemates. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Andrew McShane, the new AGCSWF Lightheavyweight champion, made his way to the ring for his inaugural title defense against Jared Rupp. It had taken Andrew a lot of perseverance and effort to win the belt himself, and he wasn't about to let Jared just waltz in and take it from him as he whipped the challenger off the ropes and caught him with a monkey flip. He then hoisted Jared to his feet, launched into a slingshot suplex, and rolled him up for a two-count. But Jared courageously attempted to regain the advantage by kicking Andrew in the gut, then scoopslamming him and dropping a knee onto the champ's sternum for another nearfall. Not too long after that, Jared bounced Andrew off the ropes and delivered a devastating spinebuster, grabbing onto Andrew's legs and flipping forward into his trademark pinning position. However, Andrew was so close to the ropes that all he had to do was reach his hands out and touch them, which meant that Jared was forced to break up the pinfall. As a disoriented Lightheavyweight champion struggled to get his bearings, the challenger ascended to the top turnbuckle and readied himself for a high-risk move. Andrew somehow managed to stand up and punch Jared in the face several times, gradually pulling himself up onto the turnbuckle and maneuvering Jared into position for a hurricanrana off the top rope. All that was left for the champ to do now was to set Jared up and connect with his finisher, the standing tornado DDT, then make the cover and score the three-count to retain his title. After the match, Andrew took his belt from the referee, climbed over the ringside barrier, and celebrated with the fans, as was his post-match custom. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next, Chris "Chrispytoast" Burros took on Eric Delzell, Nicholaas Leembruggen, and Dane Gammon in a fatal four-way elimination match; the sole survivor of this contest would be placed into serious contention for the AGCSWF Television title. Dane whipped Eric off the ropes and took him down with a big boot to the face, then turned and walked into a belly-to-belly suplex from Chrispy for a nearfall. Nick easily overpowered Eric and connected with a clothesline, then delivered a shoulderbreaker for a two-count of his own. In the meantime, Dane locked a sleeperhold on Chrispy, who drove his elbow into Dane's stomach to get him to release his grip, then hit a faceplant off the ropes. Chrispy then splashed his adversary and made the cover, getting only a two-count. This frustrated the burly competitor to the point where he was oblivious to the fact that Nick was sneaking up behind him. Nick stopped Chrispy in his tracks with a kidney punch and used his immense strength to powerbomb him for the first pinfall of the match. He attempted to powerbomb Dane as well, but Dane reversed the move into a back body-drop, then climbed to the top turnbuckle and put his opponent out of the game with a huge flying clothesline. Suddenly, Eric flattened Dane by hitting a running tackle, following up on that with a double-underhook suplex. This gave Eric a chance to steal the second pin of the contest over Nick; however, he was only able to do so after wrapping Nick up in a small package. As Eric celebrated his victory, Dane met him with a drop toehold in the middle of the ring, then got to his feet and delivered a pumphandle slam that jarred Eric's bones. A scant three seconds later, Dane had emerged as the winner and was reveling in his newfound status as a legitimate threat to the TV title, while Eric required the aid of referees to safely exit the squared circle. Dane walked up the entrance ramp and headed backstage, no doubt pondering what would be the best way to take the TV belt away from Ryan Estes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nathan Bonner came to the ring with an aluminum baseball bat in his hands for a "hardcore-style" matchup against "Big R" Russell Davis. Russell brought along Derek Ankrom, but instructed the younger brother of Grant Ankrom to stay out of the ring, as he was attempting to prove his worth in the AGCSWF and couldn't do so if he had someone interfering on his behalf all the time. Nathan took the fight to his adversary with several stiff punches to the face and midsection, then picked up his bat and smashed it into Russell's knee. "Big R" stumbled forward and clotheslined Nathan to the mat before rolling off to the side and holding his leg in agony. Nathan took hold of the weapon, struck his opponent across the spine and ribcage with it, then tossed the bat away and left the squared circle only to return with a metal lunch tray. When Derek tried to buy his stablemate some time by climbing into the ring, Nathan turned around and dented the tray over his head. He then whipped Russell off the ropes and delivered a sidewalk slam for a two-count. "Big R" was turning out to be just a little tougher than Nathan had originally anticipated, but he refused to give up as he connected with a running powerslam. Finally, he hit an axe-kick to the back of Russell's head, leading to an eventual pinfall which Derek was too slow to interrupt in time. After the bell had sounded to officially end the match, Nathan angrily wrapped his baseball bat around Derek's throat and started to choke the smaller man out. At that moment, Crash came down the entrance ramp and stormed the ring, using his billy club for the purpose of doling out more punishment to a helpless Russell. He then turned around and assaulted Nathan for no apparent reason, which gave Nathan due cause to jam his bat into Crash's stomach and take him down with an axe-kick as he had done to "Big R." Shortly thereafter, Fast Eddie joined the brawl and engaged in a fistfight with Nathan, but the ring was cleared for good when Matt Roberts made his presence felt by delivering chokeslams to both superstars. Matt then left the arena, carrying his Hardcore title belt with him as Federation officials did their best to sort through the utter carnage which remained in and around the squared circle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The former AGCSWF Lightheavyweight champion, Chad Ehrmann, and his friend Ryan Estes made their way to the ring, as Chad was slated to take on Clay Fergusen. This was the first time that a lightheavyweight wrestler had mixed it up with one of his heavyweight counterparts, but the match was a necessity according to the participants, who each had a score to settle with the other man. The week before, Chad had distracted Clay, allowing Ryan to pin him for the TV title. In retaliation, Clay had cheated Chad out of the LHW strap as well as ending his incredible winning streak, and the resulting conflict had torn apart this once-powerful stable. As soon as Clay entered the ring, Chad went after him with fire in his eyes, landing a few punches and kicks followed by an attempt at a vertical suplex. However, Clay stood his ground and reversed the maneuver, then whipped his opponent off the ropes and landed a back elbow. He pulled Chad up to a standing position, hoisted him into the air and hit a Samoan drop for a nearfall; it was easy to see that Chad was having trouble regrouping his thoughts. Several power moves later, the former LHW champ was basically out on his feet, as Clay had done nothing short of destroy him for the better part of the contest. After scoring another two-count with a running Ligerbomb, Clay locked on a camel clutch. Chad was just about to submit when Ryan jumped up onto the ring apron, climbed through the ropes, and flattened Clay with a standing side kick. As Clay rolled around in pain, Chad slowly produced his pair of brass knuckles and slipped them onto his hand. Although he was exhausted, Chad was still able to slug his opponent in the jaw, dropping Clay instantly and allowing Chad to pick up a very surprising win. He had now made history in the AGCSWF as the only lightheavyweight to defeat someone in a higher weight class than himself, but he didn't appear to realize it because he was too worn out from being continuously pummeled for the duration of the match. Ryan helped Chad to the locker room area and left Clay lying in a heap as the referee dutifully checked on his condition. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The team of "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts and Justin Penkert, along with Justin's valet Tina Vandiver, sauntered down the entrance ramp and prepared to challenge "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison for the number-one Tag Team title contendership slot. The match didn't get off to a very good start, because Tyler and Justin immediately started brawling with their opponents and refused to listen to the referee's warnings. "Triple-D" caught Justin in the corner and drove an elbow into his head, then delivered an arm-drag and a snap suplex. As this was taking place, Tyler had clotheslined Jared over the ropes and was fighting with him on the outside, using Tina's interference to keep his adversary distracted. "Action Jim" rallied back and scoopslammed Tyler onto the announcer's table, then ordered that night's commentators, George Edgerly and Cory Shipley, to get out of the way or risk being injured. He climbed up onto the ring apron and prepared to dive off onto Tyler, but Justin saw what was about to happen and nailed Jared in the spine with a martial arts kick. The momentum sent Jared sailing forward, where he landed right on top of Tyler and plunged through the table. The fans erupted into wild cheers for the hardcore move, and when Justin turned around, "Triple-D" lifted him into the air and dropped him throat-first across the ropes. Dustin took advantage of his opponent's desperate struggle for air by hitting a flying elbowdrop off the top turnbuckle, then exited the ring and attempted to get Jared on his feet again. Eventually, "Action Jim" managed to pull himself together, but it didn't look as though Tyler would be going anywhere for quite some time. Tina stayed on the other side of the squared circle to avoid Dustin and Jared's wrath, as they finished Justin for good with a double-chokeslam. "Triple-D" then scored the pinfall victory, and the new number-one contenders to Ruudboy and Johnny Lively's Tag Team belts headed backstage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The last match of the night pitted former World champion Adam Taylor against a former European champ, Bryce Aaron Curtis. Adam came out to a mixed reaction from the crowd, mostly because the fans didn't know what to think of his recent actions concerning Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac and the World title. Bryce, on the other hand, was met with a chorus of boos, and this could be at least partially attributed to the presence of his scheming valet, Candie Hansen. The two competitors locked up and Bryce whipped his adversary off the ropes, catching him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Adam struggled to a standing position, kicked Bryce in the groin, and tackled him to the mat before unloading with several frenzied punches. As Adam got back up again, Bryce took his leg out with a chop-block from behind, then left the squared circle just long enough to track down a broken desktop. This he attempted to smash over the head of his opponent, but Adam was too quick and managed to move out of the way. Adam then launched into a clothesline, followed by a dropkick to Bryce's chest and a full-nelson suplex for another two-count. At that moment, Candie realized that the former World titleholder was dangerously close to defeating her charge, so she stepped between the ropes and did her absolute best to take Adam's mind off the task at hand. Adam played along and acted like Candie's strategy was working, until he got close enough to grab her and shock the fans by delivering a rolling DDT. Bryce had been about to make his move, but when he saw Candie lying unconscious in the ring, he forgot the cardinal rule of the AGCSWF, which was never to turn your back on whomever you were wrestling for any reason. A concerned Bryce dropped everything to focus his attention on Candie, which gave Adam a chance to procure the broken desktop and raise a huge bump on the back of Bryce's head with it. Bryce actually turned around in surprise rather than immediately collapsing, and his fellow combatant hit him with the Adam Taylor Takedown for a three-count and the victory. The arena filled with the sound of boos as Adam climbed to the top turnbuckle and celebrated what he had just gotten away with, but the fans started to cheer when Chad Martinac's music blasted through the speakers. Chad sprinted all the way down to the ring, avoided the lifeless bodies of Bryce and Candie, and furiously shoved Adam backwards. The World champ could be heard demanding to know why Adam had assaulted a woman, as Adam stood up and charged at his tormentor. A score of referees and officials jumped in to hold both men apart, despite the angry reaction of the fans in attendance, who apparently wanted to see a fight. They got exactly what they were hoping for when Chad broke free and slugged Adam in the mouth, then once again found himself being forcibly restrained. Adam wiped the blood from his lips, watching intently as Chad was hustled from the ring and to the backstage area. The show closed with a shot of Adam surrounded by referees as Candie was loaded onto a stretcher by EMTs and a distraught Bryce. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ List of AGCSWF Champions as of November 27, 2000: World Heavyweight: Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac Intercontinental: Grant Ankrom European: Peter Hartman Triple Threat: Razor Hardcore: Matt Roberts Tag Team: Ruudboy and Johnny Lively Television: Ryan Estes Lightheavyweight: Andrew McShane ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ All contents are property of the AGCS Wrestling Federation copyright 1999-2009.
