~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Results From the 11/20/2000 AGCSWF Live Event-- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The historic 11/20/2000 AGCSWF show opened with a matchup between Clay Fergusen and Ryan Estes for the Television title. Although Ryan and Clay had been the best of friends when they first started wrestling, they had gradually begun to grow apart as the weeks had marched on, and now they were about to settle the ongoing debate over who was the best athlete. The two men were accompanied by Chad Ehrmann, who had a Lightheavyweight title match later on that evening. Clay started things off with several punches and kicks, then whipped Ryan off the ropes and delivered a low back body-drop. However, Ryan desperately fought back by catching the champ with a full nelson suplex for a nearfall. He then positioned Clay in the corner and drove his shoulder into his opponent's gut several times. Clay stumbled forward in a daze and was nearly pinned for the second time that night courtesy of a gutbuster from Ryan. Eventually, though, he regained the advantage with a faceplant off the ropes, setting Ryan up perfectly for a big elbow to the chest and another two-count. Moments later, Clay had his adversary right where he wanted him and was about to deliver a double-underhook powerbomb to end the contest when Chad jumped up onto the ring apron and got his attention. He made a crucial mistake by letting go of Ryan, but Chad seemed so insistent that Clay had no other choice. As Clay turned to Chad and asked him what was the matter, the Lightheavyweight champ engaged him in a conversation which seemed to revolve around the fact that he wasn't giving Ryan a chance to properly recover. Clay tried to explain that in the world of wrestling, friendships didn't really mean anything at all, and this point was driven home when Ryan hit his opponent with a low blow from behind. He then delivered a Northern Lights suplex to a shocked Clay and logged the three-count, becoming the first man to win the TV title on two separate occasions. Afterwards, both Chad and Ryan vehemently denied having conspired to take the belt off of Clay's waist, but he saw through their not-so-clever ruse and angrily punched Chad in the mouth. This turned into an all-out brawl between Clay and his former friends, and before Ryan and Chad got a chance to do any serious damage, referees and officials held them back and allowed Clay to exit the ring. As Clay headed to the locker room area, no longer worthy of being considered a champion in the AGCSWF, he made a solemn promise to Ryan and Chad that he would get them back somehow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The AGCSWF Tag Team champions, Ruudboy and Johnny Lively, made their way down the entrance ramp for Ruudboy's singles match against "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts. The week before, Justin Penkert had benefited from a metal weight in his boot to score a victory over Johnny, and this time around, Johnny made sure to keep an eye on both Justin and his valet, Tina Vandiver. However, as soon as the bell was sounded, Tina wasted no time in devoting all of her resources to keeping Johnny out of the way while Justin entered the ring and flattened Ruudboy with his signature martial arts kick to the chest. Justin then retreated from the squared circle and engaged Johnny in a fistfight, while Tyler capitalized on his partner's interference by delivering a crunching "tombstone" piledriver to Ruudboy for the pin. Just as he had done seven days before, Justin took off his boot to reveal that he was still using the metal weight, but Johnny was in no mood to congratulate Justin for his ingenuity, as his best friend had just been cheated out of an important victory. He jumped into the ring and stunned Tyler with an Ace crusher, then did the same to Justin when he got involved. Fortunately for Tina, the Tag champ ignored her as he tended to Ruudboy, who had not only had the wind knocked out of him by Justin's kick but had been rendered senseless by Tyler's "tombstone" as well. Tyler and Justin rolled underneath the ropes and collapsed outside the ring, hoping to avoid having to suffer any more of Johnny's wrath. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next, the undefeated Chad Ehrmann put his Lightheavyweight title on the line against Andrew McShane. Andrew had gotten shots at Chad's belt before, but he had never been able to capture the title, mainly due to the fact that Chad was known to rely on a pair of brass knuckles to win his matches. The two combatants locked up in the center of the ring and Chad connected with a vertical suplex, then clotheslined Andrew as soon as he got to his feet. Andrew retaliated by delivering a quick hurricanrana for a one-count, after which he grabbed ahold of the champ and hurled him between the ropes. He then climbed to the top rope and nailed Chad with a high moonsault to the arena floor. Back in the squared circle, Andrew further decimated his adversary with a slingshot suplex and went for the cover, but only got a two-count as Chad kicked out in the nick of time. The undaunted champion whipped Andrew off the ropes and hit a picture-perfect dropkick, then took a few moments to recover and smashed the challenger's head into a nearby turnbuckle several times. Finally, he produced his pair of brass knuckles and prepared to end the contest in one fell swoop. However, Andrew had seen Chad do this too many times to not know what was coming, and he successfully managed to duck out of the way when the champ swung at him, then delivered a sunset flip off the ropes for yet another nearfall. It was then that Ryan Estes showed up at ringside with his TV belt in his hands and mischief written all over his face. Suddenly, Clay Fergusen sprinted down the entrance ramp and attacked Ryan, getting into a furious brawl that mimicked the one they had gotten into earlier. Chad turned his back on Andrew for a split second in order to break up the fight between Ryan and Clay; this gave Andrew a chance to tap his opponent on the shoulder and connect with his finishing move, the standing tornado DDT. As Clay kept Ryan busy outside the squared circle, Andrew rolled Chad up and held on for the three-count, interrupting Chad's four-month winning streak as well as his Lightheavyweight title reign. Following the match, Andrew grabbed his newly-won belt from the referee and hastily exited the ring, jumping over the barrier and celebrating with a group of loyal fans who had been pulling for Andrew to win the strap since day one. In the meantime, Clay was pulled off of Ryan and sent to his locker room by referees, and Chad was left to cope with his first loss in the Federation. Andrew held his title belt in the air and headed backstage, but he knew that the worst was yet to come, as Chad and Ryan were surely going to do everything they could to rob him of the strap during the upcoming weeks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Razor, the AGCSWF Triple Threat champion, made his way to the ring for a title defense against Derek Ankrom and N. Haere. Razor was still angry at Derek for costing him a victory against Grant Ankrom a few weeks before, and although his history with N. Haere was somewhat limited, he still tore into both of his opponents from the opening bell. N. Haere had brought his brother and tag team partner E. Haere along for the ride, while Derek was accompanied by his stablemate "Big R" Russell Davis. Razor whipped Derek off the ropes and connected with a spinning heel kick, then delivered a clothesline to N. Haere, capturing him in a small package for a nearfall. Derek stopped the champ in his tracks with a kidney punch and a scoopslam, but Razor soon recovered and dropkicked Derek to the mat, doing the same to N. Haere. Sensing that his friend might be in trouble, "Big R" reached underneath the ring and came up with a length of metal pipe, which he tossed to Derek. The younger brother of Grant Ankrom then charged straight at Razor, who avoided the attack and nailed Derek with a facebuster when he turned around. N. Haere stepped over and delivered a backbreaker to the champ, followed by a running powerslam for another two-count. The challenger was beginning to run out of ideas as he lifted Razor to his feet and launched into a back suplex, which Razor escaped by flipping his body out of N. Haere's arms, amazing the crowd with his agility. He then caught N. Haere from behind with a reverse DDT, a move that had not previously been used by any other Federation wrestler. It looked as though Razor was about to win as he ascended to the top turnbuckle and prepared to hit a shooting star press onto N. Haere. But Derek stumbled towards the champ in a daze, hoping to pull him back down into the ring. Razor went flying off of the turnbuckle anyway and delivered a cross body block to Derek, crushing his opponent and weakening him to the point where he was able to be pinned following a vertical suplex into a driver. Some people were surprised that neither Russell nor E. Haere had gotten physically involved in the match, but now "Big R" cleared the ropes and went after the champion, who leveled his assailant with repeated chest slaps before clotheslining him to the outside. Now it was the Haere brothers giving Razor a hard time, as they caught him with a tandem suplex and a double kneedrop to the midsection. "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison soon showed up to chase the Haeres away, then stood with their friend in the ring and dared Russell and Derek to try something funny. The two companions warily stalked backstage to join Grant and Peter Hartman, and Razor thanked the former Tag Team champs for their help. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Matt Roberts took on Nathan Bonner for the AGCSWF Hardcore championship in what promised to be a grueling and bloody affair. Prior to the contest, Matt set up a folding table in the ring, then looked towards the entranceway as Nathan came to the ring with an aluminum baseball bat. Upon reaching the squared circle, Nathan smashed his bat across the champ's ribcage, then found it being wrestled from his hands. Before Matt could use the weapon, though, Nathan punched him in the gut and went for an axe-kick, but Matt stood back out of the way and sent Nathan plunging to the ground. He then struck Nathan in the spine with the challenger's own bat, hoisted him into the air, and dropped him face-first into the top turnbuckle. This made it easy for Matt to go for the cover, but somehow Nathan kicked out by utilizing every bit of strength left in his body. The contest went back and forth in this manner for the next few minutes, until Nathan drew first blood with a solid steel chair shot to the head of his adversary. He then reached across the ring in desperation and grabbed ahold of his trusty bat, coming up behind the Hardcore champ and using the weapon to lock on a chokehold. Matt struggled wildly and attempted to throw Nathan over his shoulders, but the challenger stubbornly refused to let go as he slowly drained Matt of his air supply. Eventually, Matt wearily sank to one knee, then made a last-ditch effort to free himself which proved to be unsuccessful when Nathan simply hung on tighter. Dane Gammon came running down to the ring and tried to get Nathan's attention so that he would release Matt. Realizing that he was only seconds away from winning the Hardcore title, the challenger ignored Dane as best he could; however, Dane entered the squared circle and took the bat away from Nathan, shoving the referee to the side when he interjected. Nathan jumped up in a blind rage and tackled Dane, then unloaded with a flurry of punches. When Dane used the ropes to stand up, Nathan kicked him in the gut, then connected with an axe-kick to the back of his head. He clotheslined the offending party to the outside and turned around again to find Matt right next to him. Nathan didn't even have time to react before Matt shoved him into the corner and kicked him in the midsection several times, then stepped back and hit him with a big boot. The Hardcore titleholder capitalized on Dane's interference by chokeslamming Nathan through the table as he had done to so many other opponents in the past, scoring a three-count to retain his championship. The fans did not approve of the way that Matt had come out on top in this particular bout, and they bombarded both men with garbage as the two friends exited the ring and headed to the locker room area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the next-to-last match of the evening, Grant Ankrom defended his Intercontinental championship against Brandon "Brando" Cowles. Although the challenger had backup in the form of Razor, Grant was accompanied by not only Peter Hartman but "Big R" Russell Davis as well. Derek, however, was apparently still recovering from having been defeated by the Triple Threat champ earlier on, and so was not at ringside. Brandon wasted no time in taking the fight to Grant with a running shoulderblock and several stomps to the chest, then pulled Grant to his feet and delivered a one-armed release belly-to-belly suplex off the ropes. All of this left the champion dazed and vulnerable, allowing Brandon to roll him up for a close two-count. Peter and Russell attacked an unsuspecting Razor outside the ring, knocking him to the arena floor and mercilessly beating on him. "Big R" then pulled a snow shovel out from underneath the squared circle and bashed Razor in the head with it, allowing Peter to jump into the ring and go after Brandon. The European champ ducked under a clothesline, then grabbed Brandon from behind and hit a reverse Russian legsweep. Noticing that Razor's friends "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison had just showed up, Peter went back outside and prevented them from ganging up on Russell. In the meantime, Grant connected with his modified Death Valley Driver on Brandon to ensure the pinfall, keeping the I-C belt around his waist. He then left the ring, picked up the snow shovel, and used it to put both Dustin and Jared out of commission as they brawled with Peter and Russell. Derek joined his stablemates, rolling the bodies of their adversaries into the squared circle and participating in a brutal stomp-fest. It seemed that all was lost until the crowd exploded into cheers which shook the entire arena as Crash's theme music blasted through the speakers for the first time in over two months. The former Intercontinental title contender came running down to the ring along with his protege, Fast Eddie, who hadn't been seen in a Federation ring since October 23rd. Eddie had actually been injured by Brandon Cowles when he left, but he concentrated on Grant and Co. instead of punishing the man who had eliminated him from active competition. Both Crash and Eddie were outfitted with billy clubs, which they used to send Russell and Derek to the mat in short order. Grant stepped forward and challenged Crash to fight him one-on-one; however, he was then knocked unconscious as Eddie nearly broke his club over the champ's head. Finally, Crash and Eddie chased Peter through the ropes and all the way up the entrance ramp, where they caught him just as he was about to escape. After pummeling Peter into submission, Crash and Eddie held their clubs in the air and listened as the fans excitedly chanted their names, happy that the two superstars were back where they belonged. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac, who was arguably the most popular superstar in the AGCSWF as well as the current World Heavyweight champion, took on Bryce Aaron Curtis for the strap. Because this wasn't a "hardcore-style" match, Bryce was able to bring his valet, Candie Hansen, to ringside without fear that she might end up being hurt. Chad surprised his larger and stronger adversary by whipping him off the ropes and delivering a flying clothesline to start out, then caught the big man with a German suplex for a nearfall. Bryce struck back with a couple of kicks to Chad's midsection and a gutbuster, leading to another two-count. The match hadn't been underway for very long when Adam Taylor materialized on the ring apron, then entered the squared circle and waited until Bryce turned around He then delivered his finisher, the Adam Taylor Takedown, much to Chad's surprise and anger. The champion had obviously not requested Adam's interference as he shoved him away and ordered him to leave. Adam responded by hitting Chad with a rolling DDT, then placing him over top of a fallen Bryce so that the referee could register the three-count. Everyone in attendance was left scratching their heads as Adam nonchalantly walked up the ramp with a smirk on his face which revealed that he had indeed had a reason for doing what he had just done. The show came to a close with a shot of Chad holding his head in agony and Bryce lying flat on his back, with Candie Hansen doing her best to revive the delerious challenger. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ List of AGCSWF Champions as of November 20, 2000: World Heavyweight: Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac Intercontinental: Grant Ankrom European: Peter Hartman Triple Threat: Razor Hardcore: Matt Roberts Tag Team: Ruudboy and Johnny Lively Television: Ryan Estes Lightheavyweight: Andrew McShane ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ All contents are property of the AGCS Wrestling Federation copyright 1999-2009.
