~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Results From the 11/13/2000 AGCSWF Live Event-- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jared Rupp took on fellow lightheavyweight superstar "Action" Tim Brison in a one-on-one contest to open the 11/13/2000 AGCSWF show. The two competitors hadn't been given as many chances to demonstrate their abilities as they would have liked, so Jared made the best of this opportunity by whipping Tim off the ropes and connecting with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. This was followed by a scoopslam and a pin attempt, but the younger brother of Jared "Action Jim" Brison managed to kick out just in time. He then took Jared down with a flying shoulderblock and unloaded with several punches to his opponent's face. When Jared got back up, he was promptly hurled into the nearest turnbuckle, after which Tim charged forward and dropkicked him into the corner. A dazed Jared struggled to regain his senses as Tim caught him in a small package for a nearfall. He then hit Jared with a vertical suplex, but made a fatal mistake by prematurely ascending to the top rope for his signature maneuver, the diving headbutt. Jared was not yet completely spent, so he was able to roll out of the way and leave Tim to fall flat on his face, after which Jared hit a monstrous spinebuster off the ropes. He then grabbed onto Tim's legs, and everyone knew what was coming next as he flipped forward into a fancy and inescapable pinning position for the victory. Afterwards, Jared exited the squared circle and headed backstage as the fans in attendance serenaded him with a mixture of cheers and boos. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Clay Fergusen, the new AGCSWF Television champion, defended his belt against Chris "Chrispytoast" Burros. The massive Chrispy was accompanied by his friend "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts, while Clay brought along the former TV champ Ryan Estes to be in his corner. From the opening bell, Chrispy used his weight to prevent Clay from hitting any power moves; he caught Clay in an abdominal stretch and eventually delivered a pumphandle slam for a two-count. The champion fought back with a combination of lefts and rights followed by a rather weak version of the Samoan drop. Clay nearly got Chrispy to submit with a camel clutch, but Tyler jumped up onto the ring apron and taunted Clay, causing him to release the hold. As Tyler got back down, he was attacked by Ryan, and this resulted in Chrispy reaching through the ropes to grab onto Ryan by the hair. However, Clay was lying in wait for the challenger when he turned around, hitting a swinging neckbreaker and a knee drop to Chrispy's midsection. Tyler and Ryan continued to fight with one another, leaving Clay to ascend to the top rope and nail his adversary with a missile dropkick to the shoulder. The move left Chrispy with one useless arm, which meant that Clay was able to set Chrispy up and deliver his double-underhook powerbomb for the victory. After the match had concluded, the referee helped Chrispy out of the ring as Ryan picked up a microphone. "Well, Clay, last week you beat me for the TV title," Ryan began, "and although I admit you're a great wrestler, everyone knows that your win over me was nothing but a fluke. I'm not trying to start anything here; I'm just stating the facts. At this point in your career, you really don't have what it takes to be TV champ, and that's why I'm challenging you to a rematch in seven days. Once I prove that I'm the superior wrestler in our little three-man group, you can go back to feuding with whoever you want, and we'll just put this whole TV title mess behind us. What do you say, pal?" Angered by his friend's inflammatory comments, Clay agreed to put his belt up for grabs without a second thought, and the match was officially signed as the two companions glared at one another. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The AGCSWF Tag Team champions, Ruudboy and Johnny Lively, showed up for Johnny's singles match against Justin Penkert. When Justin made his appearance, he had his valet, Tina Vandiver, and his own tag team partner, "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts, with him. At first, having his enemies outnumbered did little to give Justin the psychological advantage, but before the bell could even be sounded, Tyler pulled out a broken desktop from under the ring and went after Ruudboy. The Tag champ did his best to avoid Tyler's attacks, until Tina came up behind him and delivered a low blow. With his partner lying helpless on the arena floor, Johnny was distracted and not even paying attention to the fact that the match had officially started. Justin capitalized on this by getting Johnny to turn around, then hitting him with a devastating martial arts kick to the chest and holding on tightly for a very unexpected three-count. The fans booed Justin's actions, feeling that they had been robbed of a quality match, but at the same time, they were wondering how any kick, even one as strong as Justin's, could take Johnny down for the victory. It was then that Justin slyly reached into his boot and produced a metal weight, which he had evidently used to pack extra power into his finishing move. Johnny clasped his hands to his chest and struggled to breathe as Justin, Tyler and Tina escaped to the locker room area, leaving Ruudboy in a pile outside the squared circle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The fans suddenly erupted into raucous cheers as Andrew McShane, the most-loved superstar in the entire lightheavyweight division, made his way to the ring with a microphone in his hand. "I know I've never said much of anything before," Andrew said, "but the AGCSWF was kind enough to give me some TV time, and I'm going to make the best of it. Chad Ehrmann, you good-for-nothing lowlife, this whole situation with you dominating the Lightheavyweight title has to come to an end. The only reason you haven't been pinned yet is because you constantly cheat to win your matches. It doesn't matter anymore, though, because you're looking at the man who is finally going to put that first pinfall over you and take the title from around your waist." Once more the crowd began to cheer, then stopped when Andrew began talking again. "You've only got one week left to enjoy your status as the champion, so I suggest you live it up while you still can. Whether you like it or not, Federation officials have ruled that you are undeserving of the belt, and they've granted me one more title match for seven days from now. When I get in the ring with you, Chad, I'm going to tear you apart and restore some prestige to the strap, and if you even think about using your brass knuckles, you won't live to regret it." Having said everything that he needed to say, Andrew gave his microphone to ringside commentator George Edgerly and went backstage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now it was time for a special "hardcore-style" triple threat match, where the victor would face Matt Roberts for the Hardcore championship in exactly one week. The combatants were Nathan Bonner, Dane Gammon, and Bryce Aaron Curtis, who decided to leave Candie Hansen behind as he had been doing lately in order to keep her out of harm's way. At the outset, Nathan used his aluminum baseball bat to decimate both of his opponents by hitting them in the knees, but Dane and Bryce soon teamed up on Nathan, hitting a tandem clothesline off the ropes. Bryce then delivered a fallaway slam and a gutbuster, eliminating Nathan from competition for the time being. As Bryce turned around, though, Dane cracked him over the skull with a steel chair, then pulled Bryce to his feet and drove the weapon into his stomach. Bryce held his midsection in agony as Dane climbed to the top rope and nailed his adversary with one of his signature moves, the flying clothesline. It looked as though Dane was about to become the new number-one contender for his best friend's title, but he flatly refused to go for the pin and instead just stomped on Bryce several times. The crowd began to chant for Dane to make the cover as they had done the week before when he was in a similar position, and what Dane failed to notice was that Nathan had recovered and tracked down his baseball bat. Nathan watched incredulously as Dane continued to beat on his opponent, then grabbed him from behind and wrapped the bat around Dane's throat. Dane thrashed around in an attempt to shake Nathan off, but a severe lack of oxygen eventually put him out; the referee raised his limp arm three times, then awarded Nathan the victory. For the second time, Dane had gone out of his way to avoid getting anywhere near the Hardcore title, and now the winner refused to let go. Concerned for Dane's welfare, the referee warned Nathan that if he didn't release the hold, the decision would be reversed, and that was what finally convinced him to leave Dane alone. Following the match, Nathan held his bat in the air and celebrated his victory, knowing that an even tougher challenge awaited him in the form of Matt Roberts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Adam Taylor, the former AGCSWF World Heavyweight champion, made his way to the ring in preparation for his match again "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts. Adam's rather shaky fan support seemed to have grown from the past week as he lay in wait for Tyler to enter the ring, then charged at his adversary and speared him to the mat. Tyler attempted to regain his breath, but Adam would have none of it as he bounced Tyler off the ropes and dropkicked him in the chest. He followed up on this by launching into his Adam Taylor Takedown, scoring a victory just as he had done the week before against Nathan Hall. Afterwards, Adam left Tyler flat on his back in the squared circle and headed backstage to a round of cheers and applause from the crowd. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next up was an eight-man elimination tag team match, pitting Brandon "Brando" Cowles, the AGCSWF Triple Threat champion Razor, "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison against the Intercontinental champion Grant Ankrom, his brother Derek, "Big R" Russell Davis, and the European champ Peter Hartman. The week before, Brandon had asked Razor to come to his aid, and this time around, Razor had brought along a few friends of his own. Razor and Derek started things off and wrestled back and forth for a few moments until the Triple Threat champ connected with a spinning heel kick and a hurricanrana for a two-count. Not long after that, Razor got a pinfall over his smaller, weaker opponent with a vertical suplex into a driver. Grant then jumped into the ring and worked Razor over, hitting several sharp kicks to his adversary's midsection and then delivering a running forearm off the ropes. Slightly disoriented, Razor tagged in Brandon, but Grant knew that Brandon had revenge on his mind and immediately tagged out to Peter. As Peter stepped through the ropes, Grant lunged at Brandon and took him down with a clothesline, then left the ring and was subsequently assaulted by Razor, who climbed up to the top turnbuckle and hit a corkscrew plancha. Brandon attempted to fight Peter off, but the European champ hit a drop toehold, setting Brandon up for a piledriver. However, Brandon flipped him over with a back body-drop, then caught him in a deadly anklelock submission hold. It was plain to see that Brandon was enjoying watching Peter suffer, and it would have continued for quite some time had Russell not stormed the ring and lifted Brandon into the air, then dropped him throat-first across the ropes. While Razor and Grant brawled on the outside, "Triple-D" went after Russell, but was too late to save Brandon, because Peter grabbed his opponent and hit a reverse Russian legsweep for the second pin of the contest. Dustin and Jared retaliated by delivering double-chokeslams to both Peter and "Big R," and once Jared had scored the victory over Peter, he and his friend dragged Grant back into the fracas. Razor took a few minutes to recuperate while Grant did his best to combat the two-on-one advantage that his opponents had; however, his efforts were to no avail. Eventually, Jared tagged out to Razor, and the Triple Threat champ nailed Grant with a facebuster, then hit a shooting star press off the top rope onto Russell, making the cover and getting a three-count. The crowd began to cheer wildly, as it was now apparently time to finish Grant off for good. "Triple-D" and "Action Jim" set Grant up and delivered a tandem suplex, then climbed up the opposite turnbuckles and launched into simultaneous flying elbowdrops. Razor had already tagged himself out of the action, so Dustin made the cover and scored the final pinfall for his team. Following the match, the conquering heroes headed backstage to track down Brandon, while referees checked on Grant to make sure he was okay. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the final contest of the evening, Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac placed his World title up for grabs against another superstar who utilized a similar style to his own, Ryan Estes. The challenger was accompanied by his friend Clay Fergusen, while Chad didn't bring anything with him but his championship belt. The two competitors locked up, and Ryan surprised his opponent by delivering a low blow to Chad and then launching directly into a T-bone suplex. Infuriated, Chad bounced off the ropes and punished Ryan with a swinging neckbreaker; this made it easy for him to grab Ryan from behind and hit his ever-popular cobra clutch suplex. Before long, it appeared that the match had turned into little more than a "can you top this?" situation, with each man attempting more and more dangerous and complicated suplexes until they were both worn out. Chad's endurance level was slightly higher than Ryan's, however, as he clotheslined the challenger in the corner and then connected with a variation of the release belly-to-belly suplex that nearly snapped Ryan in half. When Clay stormed the ring in an attempt to distract Chad, he was met with a flurry of punches and a rising knee to the face. Rather than stick around for more, Clay decided to bail out and save his skin, leaving Ryan to be hoisted into the air by the World champ and eventually pinned with a back suplex into a sit-down Ligerbomb. As Chad got to his feet and surveyed the damage around him, he caught the eye of one Adam Taylor, who was rapidly making his way to the squared circle with a look of purpose on his face. Clay pulled Ryan to safety just in time, as Adam entered the ring and got into an intense staredown with Chad. Referees soon flooded the area and kept the two hated enemies apart, although the fans booed them loudly for their actions because they were expecting some sort of fight to break out. But it was not to be on this particular night as the show came to a close with a shot of Adam and Chad glaring at one another, being restrained only by a host of determined AGCSWF officials. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ List of AGCSWF Champions as of November 13, 2000: World Heavyweight: Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac Intercontinental: Grant Ankrom European: Peter Hartman Triple Threat: Razor Hardcore: Matt Roberts Tag Team: Ruudboy and Johnny Lively Television: Clay Fergusen Lightheavyweight: Chad Ehrmann All contents are property of the AGCS Wrestling Federation copyright 1999-2009.
