~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Results From the 10/9/2000 AGCSWF Live Event-- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ An angry-looking Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac stalked to the ring and demanded a microphone to kick off the 10/9/2000 AGCSWF show. "Last Monday night," Chad said, "my spot as the number-one contender for the AGCSWF World Heavyweight championship was blatantly stolen from me and given to a man who has only wrestled twice in the entire existence of this Federation, Dane Gammon. Well, I'm not going to stand for this any longer. Adam Taylor, you spineless, gutless wimp, what you did last week just proved to me and everyone watching that you're nothing but a common coward." The fans broke out into cheers, then quieted down to hear what Chad would say next. "You're afraid to face me in the ring again, because there's no doubt in your mind that you don't have what it takes to pin the 'Jitterbug.' But the truth is, Adam, that even you have more wrestling ability than Dane ever will, so after you beat him in the ring tonight, you're going to give me another chance to become the number-one contender. If you're wondering exactly how I'm planning to pull that off, well, let me explain it to you in simple terms that you can understand. In seven days, with your approval, I will challenge Dane to a one-on-one match where the winner will go on to face you the very next Monday for the World title. You can interfere all you want; just know that it doesn't matter what you do, because in precisely two weeks, I WILL be the new World champion, whether you like it or not." Chad then dropped his mic and headed backstage as the crowd once again began to cheer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The opening match featured the team of Ryan Estes, the AGCSWF Television champion, and Clay Fergusen going up against Ruudboy and Johnny Lively. The bell hadn't even sounded before an uncontrollable brawl exploded among the four competitors, and it was all the referee could do to try and keep the peace as Ruudboy whipped Clay off the ropes and hip-tossed him to the mat, then hit a bulldog as Clay struggled back to a standing position. Ruudboy went for the cover, but the pinfall was broken up by Ryan, who turned around and became the recipient of a sidewalk slam from Johnny. Both Ryan and Clay subsequently bailed from the ring and regrouped on the outside, then were soon forced back into the squared circle by their opponents. Once order had been restored, Ryan almost scored the win over Ruudboy with a double-underhook suplex, a flying clothesline, and a crucifix for a two-count. However, Ruudboy fought back, hitting a backbreaker and following that up by forcing Ryan into the corner and repeatedly ramming his shoulder into Ryan's midsection. The TV champ stumbled forward, tagged Clay into the ring, then wearily collapsed and ended up in a heap on the arena floor. For the next few moments, Clay gradually wore Ruudboy down with a variety of power moves until Johnny entered the fracas and scoopslammed Clay, making it easy for Ruudboy to hit a fistdrop for another nearfall. Shortly thereafter, Ryan returned to the ring and delivered a piledriver to an unsuspecting Ruudboy, taking him out of commission. Clay then grabbed onto Johnny and held his arms behind him while Ryan took a few steps backward and propelled himself into a standing side kick. But Johnny squirmed out of Clay's grip at the last possible second, leaving Ryan's partner to take the full force of the painful maneuver. Johnny stunned Ryan with an Ace crusher, then scored the pin on Clay and escaped to the locker room area with Ruudboy. Once the members of the losing team determined what had just taken place, Clay furiously shoved Ryan and yelled at the TV champ for rendering him senseless, although the blame could have easily been spread either way. As the two friends argued, Chad Ehrmann ran to the ring and futilely did his best to patch things up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next, Peter Hartman, who was accompanied by his stablemate "Big R" Russell Davis, took on Nathan Hall in a one-on-one match. Nathan had temporarily been taken off of Federation TV to work on his skill level, but now he was ready to mix it up with Peter, who defended himself as Nathan charged at him by powerslamming his adversary for a two-count. Peter then stomped on Nathan several times, lifted him up, and hit a low blow, then placed him on the top turnbuckle and connected with a crunching back suplex to the mat. Peter could have gone for the pin right there, but instead he chose to deliver his reverse Russian legsweep to make sure that Nathan had no chance of kicking out. Predictably, the match ended when Peter covered his opponent and scored the three-count in what had been a much shorter confrontation than a lot of people had originally expected. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chad Ehrmann, the undefeated Lightheavyweight champion, prepared to put his title on the line against "Action" Tim Brison. Tim made his way to the ring, and the match was on, with the challenger hitting a running forearm and a swinging neckbreaker on his slightly larger opponent. Chad retaliated by whipping the younger brother of Jared "Action Jim" Brison off the ropes and clotheslining him, then getting a nearfall after a vertical suplex and a Samoan drop. In desperation, Tim punched Chad in the mouth and hit a chop-block to his knee, which only served to further annoy the champ. Moments later, Chad exited the ring and picked up a steel chair, which he smashed over Tim's head without warning. He then rolled his adversary up tightly for the victory to keep his winning streak alive and well. As Chad celebrated his win, Andrew McShane came down to the ring, hit the champion with a hurricanrana, and pitched him over the ropes, much to the delight of the fans. But Jared Rupp showed up to attack Andrew, and while the two enemies fought back and forth, Chad reached inside the blue coveralls which he wore during his matches and produced his infamous pair of brass knuckles. Chad then jumped back into the ring, knocked Andrew out cold by slugging him in the jaw, and punished Jared with a double-arm DDT onto the chair. Finally, the champion took his title belt and retreated up the entrance ramp, taunting his adversaries. However, as he did so, another lightheavyweight superstar by the name of David Temple ran up behind him and smacked him with a broken desktop, knocking him unconscious along with the other two men. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The AGCSWF Tag Team champions, "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison, made their entrance along with the Triple Threat champion, Razor, for a six-man tag team match against "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts, Chris "Chrispytoast" Burros, and Justin Penkert, who was accompanied as always by Tina Vandiver. The unique alliance between the Tag champs and Razor had come about after they aided him in retaining his title the week before, and now Dustin and Tyler locked up to start things off. "Triple-D" quickly overpowered Tyler and decimated him with a gutbuster, then hit a snap suplex for a two-count. Tyler tagged Chrispy into the ring, but "Triple-D" followed suit and left Razor to deal with the big man. Razor and Chrispy wrestled back and forth for awhile, with the Triple Threat champion eventually scoring a nearfall after connecting with a headscissors takedown and a missile dropkick from the top rope. Razor then clotheslined Chrispy over the ropes, tagged out to Jared, and climbed to the top turnbuckle for the second time to hit a corkscrew plancha onto his adversary. In the meantime, Jared and Dustin went after their remaining opponents, but just then, the Haere Brothers showed up at ringside. Razor was in the midst of a brawl with Chrispy, so he was unable to see what was going on as "Triple-D" cleared the ropes and engaged both brothers in a fistfight. Jared was planning to do the same thing, until Tyler and Justin caught him and delivered a double-spinebuster. Tyler then helped the Haere Brothers beat up on "Triple-D," while Justin attacked Razor and flattened him with a roundhouse kick to the head. Since Chrispy was the legal man, only he could make the pin, so he returned to the ring and splashed an already-motionless Jared for the victory. Chrispy didn't have much time to celebrate, however, because Razor pulled him off of Jared and hit a facebuster. The champion then took off running and jumped over the ropes into an all-out suicide dive, leaving himself, "Triple-D," both of the Haere Brothers, and Justin Penkert sprawled on the ground. Referees and officials then came out to separate everyone, not wanting things to get more violent and unpredictable than they already were. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bryce Aaron Curtis and Candie Hansen made their way to the squared circle, where Bryce hoped to even the score in his feud with Nathan Bonner. Upon entering the ring, Bryce took a microphone and said, "I haven't forgotten about you yet, Brandon Cowles, but right now I've got bigger fish to fry. Nathan Bonner, get out here so I can wrap that baseball bat of yours around your scrawny neck!" Moments later, Nathan came out from behind the curtains carrying his standard weapon, an aluminum bat. He then sprinted to the ring and swung at Bryce's head, but the former European champ ducked out of the way and took Nathan down with a big boot. Now it was Bryce's turn to use the bat, as he struck Nathan in the spine and across the shoulders. Nathan fell down in agony, then reached up and grabbed ahold of the bat, jerking it out of his opponent's hands and jamming it deep into Bryce's stomach not once, but twice. Nathan gingerly stood up and assaulted his adversary's knee with the weapon, and at that moment, Matt Roberts joined the party. The AGCSWF Hardcore champion stepped over the ropes, slapped the baseball bat to the ground, and hoisted Nathan into the air, chokeslamming him with all his might. He then did the same thing to Bryce, placing Candie's charge on top of his opponent to give him the victory over Nathan. Matt then left the ring without another word as Candie helped Bryce out of the squared circle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Brandon "Brando" Cowles, the European champion whose fan base was rapidly growing by leaps and bounds, came down the entrance ramp for his scheduled match against Fast Eddie. Eddie didn't appear to be all that interested wrestling the champ, most likely because his best friend and mentor Crash was missing from the AGCSWF courtesy of Grant Ankrom's clique. Therefore, Brandon was able to get the advantage early on with a back body-drop off the ropes followed by a rolling DDT. Eddie escaped Brandon's pinfall attempt in the nick of time, but he didn't do much of anything else. Brandon, who was trying to get the challenger going so that they could put on an entertaining affair for the crowd, suddenly got fed up and kicked Eddie in the back of the head. A surprised Eddie grabbed his cranium, sat straight up for a moment, then collapsed onto the mat. It was then that Brandon realized there was nothing he could do to save this match. So, he nailed his opponent with a brainbuster suplex and got the three-count to retain his title. He then showed his disgust with Eddie's performance by throwing him between the ropes, and when he turned around, Peter Hartman was standing in the ring with an evil grin on his face and a length of metal pipe in his hands. Peter menacingly took a step in the champion's direction, but Brandon punched him in the stomach and hit another brainbuster suplex. Now it was "Big R" Russell Davis and Derek Ankrom who got involved, sandwiching Brandon between the two of them. He managed to fight back by ducking down and immobilizing both men with low blows, then setting Russell up in the corner and whipping Derek headlong into his companion. Realizing that things could turn ugly within a very short amount of time, Brandon picked up his title belt and started to head backstage. Halfway there, he was stopped in his tracks by Grant Ankrom, the Intercontinental champion. Grant was dead-set on smashing his own title belt over Brandon's head; however, he did not succeed, because Brandon tackled him onto the unforgiving steel entrance ramp, then continued his flight to safety. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the last match of the evening, Adam Taylor defended his AGCSWF World championship against the number-one contender and Matt Roberts' good friend, Dane Gammon. Dane was chomping at the bit to participate in his first World title match, but his dreams of winning the gold were soon laid to rest, as his opponent dominated him during the initial few minutes of the contest. Every time the relatively inexperienced challenger would start to gain some momentum, Adam would reverse a move or hit one of his own, and Dane would end up being on the wrong end of a two-count. This continued until finally, Dane caught Adam in midair as he went for a cross body block and hit him with a fallaway slam, taking a page out of Bryce's book. This led to a nearfall, and Adam unloaded several punches onto Dane, then climbed the turnbuckle and connected with a clothesline off the top rope. When Dane got back up, the champion tapped him on the shoulder, hit the Adam Taylor Takedown, and went for the cover to keep the World belt from around Dane's waist. Immediately afterwards, Matt came down and rolled his dejected buddy out of the ring. Then Chad Martinac's theme music blasted through the loudspeakers as the World champ's arch-nemesis made an appearance for the second time that night and said, "Well, now that we've verified that Dane Gammon is the worst wrestler in the entire AGCSWF, it's time for you to make a very important decision, Adam. Do I get my number-one contendership match with Dane next week, or do I have to come down there and beat your face in?" Adam got his hands on a mic and replied, "Alright, Chad, whatever you want. You and Dane can have your little match, and I'll defend my title against whoever wins seven days later. I'll even promise not to interfere in the match at all. But I've gotta say something first: lately you've been going around tellin' everybody that I'm afraid to take you on. That's about as far from the truth as you can get, 'cuz I'd like nothin' better than to hit you with the Adam Taylor Takedown and pin you one, two, three...again. If I end up having to face Dane instead, that won't be a problem, either. And like I've said before, if you have a problem with how things are going, try complaining to someone who cares." Adam then threw down his microphone and glared at Chad, who returned the favor as the show went off the air. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ List of AGCSWF Champions as of October 9, 2000: World Heavyweight: Adam Taylor Intercontinental: Grant Ankrom European: Brandon "Brando" Cowles Triple Threat: Razor Hardcore: Matt Roberts Tag Team: "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison Television: Ryan Estes Lightheavyweight: Chad Ehrmann ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ All contents are property of the AGCS Wrestling Federation copyright 1999-2009.
