~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Results From the 10/2/2000 AGCSWF Live Event-- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The 10/2/2000 AGCSWF show began with a "hardcore-style" match pitting Nathan Bonner (who had requested that all of his matches be contested under hardcore rules so that he would not be admonished or held back by the Federation for using weapons) against the towering Nicholaas Leembruggen. Nathan demonstrated how he had seemingly turned his career around by assaulting Nick with an aluminum baseball bat, repeatedly slamming the object into his opponent's rib cage and spine. He then wrapped the bat around Nick's throat and did his best to choke the big man out, but Nick escaped with an elbow to Nathan's gut. The wiry competitor retaliated by using the weapon to strike his adversary in the knee, then hit an axe-kick to the back of Nick's skull for a three-count. Once again, Nathan had successfully shocked everyone in attendance with his brutality as he strutted to the locker room area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peter Hartman took on Fast Eddie in a grudge match, and although Peter was accompanied by "Big R" Russell Davis and Grant and Derek Ankrom, Eddie's friend Crash was nowhere to be seen. The two combatants had barely gotten a chance to square off when Grant entered the squared circle and smashed his Intercontinental championship belt into Eddie's forehead. Peter capitalized on this by hitting his finisher, the reverse Russian legsweep, to score the easiest victory of his short career. While referees and officials removed Eddie from a potentially dangerous situation, Grant asked for a microphone and started to speak. "Well, I'm sure everyone knows by now that the four of us have driven Crash from the AGCSWF for good," Grant said. "And in the process of doing so, we severely injured and embarrassed him to the point that he will never dare to show his face around here again! We beat him with lengths of metal pipe, a snow shovel, and we even put him through an announcer's table. Don't think we won't do it to anyone else who gets in our way. Speaking of which, there have been certain rumors going around that the AGCSWF is considering taking action against my stable since we interfere in one another's matches so often. Let me tell you this: NO ONE in this company has the guts to stand up to us, and that's a fact. Now that Crash is gone, we can concentrate on more important things, and during the next few weeks we are going to become more powerful than ever, because there's no one to stop us." With those chilling words, the champ threw down his microphone, and all four men exited the ring as the fans pelted them with garbage and erupted into loud boos. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next up was a match for the AGCSWF Triple Threat title, featuring the undefeated champion, Razor, placing his belt up for grabs against E. Haere and Eric Delzell. E. Haere's brother and tag team partner, N. Haere, was gone from the arena while he recovered from suffering bruised ribs and then having his injury re-aggravated twice. Eric and Razor started out by delivering a tandem clothesline to their opponent, but Eric immediately turned around and slugged Razor in the face, scoopslamming him for a nearfall. E. Haere stood up and nailed Eric with a running leg lariat for a two-count of his own, then was targeted by Razor, who whipped him off the ropes and delivered a facebuster. The action went back and forth in this manner for quite some time, and eventually a fistfight between Razor and Eric spilled through the ropes and outside the ring. It was at this point that the Television champion Ryan Estes and Clay Fergusen got involved, distracting Razor so that Eric could get the upper hand. However, Ruudboy and Johnny Lively came to Razor's aid, chasing his tormentors over the barrier and into the crowd. Meanwhile, the Tag Team champions, "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison, had also made an appearance, standing right outside the squared circle and taunting E. Haere until he made the mistake of going after them. Dustin and Jared stomped E. Haere into the ground, then pulled him to his feet, pitched him into the ring, and punished him with a double-chokeslam. The champs then headed backstage as a puzzled Razor noticed that E. Haere was lying flat on his back and decided to hit a shooting star press from the top turnbuckle for a three-count, retaining his title and handing yet another disappointing loss to the Haere brother. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jared Rupp, the second most-hated man in the lightheavyweight division short of the champion himself, Chad Ehrmann, made his way to the ring to face off with his most bitter enemy, Andrew McShane, whom Jared had cheated out of the Lightheavyweight title the week before. A furious Andrew tore into his opponent at the outset of the match, hitting Jared with a flurry of punches, then whipping him off the ropes and dropkicking him in the chest. Next, he set Jared up, launched into a hurricanrana, and delivered a slingshot suplex. All of this yielded only a two-count, and Jared soon left the ring to try and regain his composure. But when he turned around, he was flattened by Andrew, who got a running start and jumped over the ropes into a suicide dive. After warding Andrew off with a low blow, Jared dropped his adversary face-first onto the ringside barrier, then rolled him back into the squared circle. He then went for a clothesline that was reversed when Andrew ducked underneath and took the larger competitor off his feet with a chest slap. Finally, Andrew hit a swinging neckbreaker and delivered his trademark finisher, the standing tornado DDT, for what some might call an upset victory, although it was definitely well-deserved. As Andrew got to his feet, he was confronted by Chad Ehrmann, who knocked him unconscious with a steel chair to the head. The Lightheavyweight champ then proved that he was on no one's side but his own, smashing the chair over the head of a recovering Jared Rupp as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The AGCSWF European champion, Brandon "Brando" Cowles, who had the support of nearly every fan in the arena, came to the ring for his title defense against Johnny Lively; as always, Johnny was flanked by Ruudboy. Brandon wasted no time in powerslamming his opponent off the ropes and following that up with a full-nelson suplex. He went for the cover, got a two-count, and dropped an elbow onto Johnny's chest, receiving another two-count for his trouble. Johnny whipped Brandon towards the opposite ropes and connected with a drop toehold, then tied his opponent up in a figure-four leglock which Brandon reversed, although it took a lot out of him to do so. Just then, Ryan Estes and Clay Fergusen showed up once more, attacking Ruudboy in an attempt to draw Johnny's attention away from his match. Their strategy worked like a charm, because Johnny shoved Brandon away to focus on the TV champ and his partner-in-crime, giving "Brando" the chance to recover and catch his adversary with a brainbuster suplex. This led to the pinfall and the win, and as soon as Ryan and Clay heard the bell sound to end the match, they both took off running and disappeared, having apparently completed their objectives for the night. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the next-to-last bout of the evening, Matt Roberts, the AGCSWF Hardcore champion who had yet to be pinned more than once in his career, took on the former European champ, Bryce Aaron Curtis. Matt was not accompanied by Dane Gammon, as Dane was preparing for a match of his own against Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac, but Bryce's valet Candie Hansen tagged along and waited outside the ring. Once Matt had completed his pre-match ritual of setting up a folding table intended to have Bryce chokeslammed through it, he went after the challenger with a clothesline and a gutbuster. Candie frowned in disapproval as Bryce's head was repeatedly bounced off of a nearby turnbuckle, but she smiled when Bryce turned the situation around by kicking Matt in the groin and punching him in the mouth. The Hardcore champ was then decimated with several elbow smashes in the corner; however, he suddenly sprang back to life, grabbing Bryce around the throat, lifting him high into the air (which was no small feat considering Bryce's size), and driving his opponent through the table a few feet away. This took the crowd by surprise, as Bryce had previously had the match under control. The referee logged the three-count and awarded Matt the victory, but out of nowhere, Nathan Bonner stormed the ring, striking the champion in the knee and then in the head with his baseball bat. It wasn't long before Nathan had rendered Matt almost completely helpless, and as Bryce slowly pulled himself from the wreckage of the table, he too became a victim of Nathan's aggression. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Although Dane Gammon was scheduled to come out first for the final match of the show, Chad Martinac's theme music played over the loudspeakers instead. As Chad made his entrance and raised a microphone to his lips, the crowd cheered wildly, knowing that they might be looking at the next World Heavyweight champion. "Listen up, Adam Taylor," Chad began. "I think I've waited long enough to get another title shot against you, and I'm sure these people would agree with me. I'm getting really tired of just sitting around wondering when you'll find the guts to take me on again, because I would have had you pinned the first time we faced off if it hadn't been for Matt Roberts. So Adam, if you've got any guts at all, you'll come out here right now and assure me that I've got a title match with you in exactly seven days." Chad didn't have to wait for more than a few seconds, as Adam's music blasted across the arena and the World champ stepped out from behind the curtains. "Now that I think about it, Chad, I guess you have been waitin' for a few weeks now to get your hands on this belt of mine. I'm not gonna keep you waitin' any longer, though. All you have to do is score a win over Dane Gammon here tonight, and next week you'll finally get your title shot, guaranteed. But if you lose to Dane, then he's gonna be takin' your place in the World title match, 'cuz that was part of our agreement: if anyone pins you, then they become the new number-one contender. I'm just makin' sure you don't forget how that works." Right after he finished the last sentence, Adam dropped his microphone and hit Chad in the forehead with the World title belt, instantly knocking him out cold. The fans relentlessly booed the champion as he dragged Chad all the way to the ring, then properly positioned him and delivered the Adam Taylor Takedown. He then motioned for Dane to come down and make the cover, which he did. The referee had no choice but to count the pinfall; however, when Dane stood up to his feet, Adam struck him with his title belt as well, then bolted for the exit, having successfully devised a way to avoid facing Chad in one-on-one competition as the event came to an close. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ List of AGCSWF Champions as of October 2, 2000: World Heavyweight: Adam Taylor Intercontinental: Grant Ankrom European: Brandon "Brando" Cowles Triple Threat: Razor Hardcore: Matt Roberts Tag Team: "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison Television: Ryan Estes Lightheavyweight: Chad Ehrmann All contents are property of the AGCS Wrestling Federation copyright 1999-2009.
