~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Results From the 9/25/2000 AGCSWF Live Event-- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eric Delzell's entrance music blasted through the loudspeakers to open the show, as he came to the ring for his match against Nathan Bonner. Eric's opponent surprised ringside observers by bringing an aluminum baseball bat with him, as he was evidently trying to adopt a more "hardcore" mentality. Nathan didn't even wait for the bell to ring before stepping forward and brutally striking Eric in the rib cage, then wrapping the bat around Eric's throat in an attempt to choke him out. Once he had forced his adversary to the mat, Nathan beat on him with the weapon until the referee ordered him to stop long enough so that he could check on Eric's condition. Delirious and confused, Eric stumbled to his feet and immediately became the recipient of an axe-kick to the back of his head. This made it easy for Nathan to go for the cover and win the match, surprising a lot of people who had predicted that his career would never amount to much of anything. It looked as though Nathan was now on the road to becoming the next AGCSWF Hardcore champion, but exactly how long he could keep up his "new attitude" remained to be seen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chad Ehrmann, the reigning Lightheavyweight champion, defended his title in a special grudge match against Andrew McShane which had resulted from Andrew's attack on Chad the week before. Given their turbulent history, the two combatants wasted no time in taking the fight to one another. The champion infuriated Andrew by laying him out with a vertical suplex and an elbow to the chest, then rolling him up for a nearfall. Andrew retaliated with a running forearm that found its mark, landing Chad outside the ring. When the challenger joined his opponent, Chad whipped Andrew into the steel ring steps, bashing his head into the ringpost for good measure. When Chad went for the pin, Andrew kicked out right before three, and as he stood back up to his feet he noticed Jared Rupp, a fellow lightheavyweight superstar, sprinting down the aisle. At first, Andrew must have thought that Jared was there to help him defeat his adversary, because he extended his hand in greeting. However, Jared went through the motions of shaking Andrew's hand and then unexpectedly hit him with a spinebuster, leaving the ring as soon as the deed had been done. Chad didn't seem to know what was going on, but nonetheless, he took advantage of his good fortune and pinned Andrew with a double-arm DDT. The fans erupted into boos and derogatory chants for both Chad and Jared, but the still-undefeated champion paid them no mind as he took his belt and left. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jared "Action Jim" Brison and his Tag Team championship partner "Triple-D" Dustin Day came to the ring for what would definitely be an interesting match, as Jared would be taking on E. Haere and "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts in a triple threat situation. One of the reasons for this unique contest was that N. Haere was still out after suffering bruised ribs the week before and then having the injury re-aggravated by Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac that same night. Regardless, both of the Haere brothers showed up, and when Tyler made his entrance, he was flanked by Chris "Chrispytoast" Burros, Justin Penkert, and Justin's valet, Tina Vandiver. The first man to get a pinfall or submission would win the contest, so all three wrestlers mixed it up from the opening bell. For the first few minutes, the taller and stronger "Action Jim" dominated both of his opponents, but the tide slowly began to turn once Tyler got over his pre-match jitters and hit Jared with a back body-drop followed by a release belly-to-belly suplex. Tyler got a two-count and was attacked from behind by E. Haere, who laid him out with a hurricanrana, then bounced off the opposite ropes and drove his knee deep into Tyler's gut. This led to another nearfall, and it was then that Jared maneuvered E. Haere into the corner, placed him on the top turnbuckle, and prepared to hit one of his favorite moves, the superplex. However, N. Haere jumped up onto the ring apron and got Jared's attention, which allowed E. Haere to knock the wind out of his opponent by spearing him all the way to the mat. While Dustin grabbed N. Haere and gorilla press-slammed him off of the ring apron, E. Haere tried to score a three-count, but Tyler broke up the pinfall, hit a running powerbomb on E. Haere, then splashed Jared and made the cover to emerge as the sole survivor of the match. Tyler was helped from the ring by Chrispy and Justin as "Triple-D" angrily went after the Haere Brothers, and it was clear that even though Tyler may have won the battle, the actual war was far from being resolved. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The AGCSWF Television champion, Ryan Estes, strutted down the entrance ramp as he prepared to put his title up for grabs in a fatal four-way elimination match. The next three competitors, Johnny Lovelace, Peter Hartman, and Fast Eddie, all made their respective entrances, and the bell was sounded. Ryan started things out by delivering low blows to both Peter and Johnny, then hitting Fast Eddie with a few uppercuts and turning back around, where Johnny was lying in wait to administer a flying shoulderblock. Ryan and Johnny then got into an all-out brawl which rivaled the one they had participated in the previous week. In the meantime, Peter targeted Eddie, robbing him of his senses with a powerslam off the ropes for a nearfall. Eddie did his best to put Peter away for good, hitting a swinging neckbreaker and a dropkick, but just then, Derek Ankrom showed up at ringside, jumping up onto the apron and distracting Eddie so that Peter could grab him and deliver a reverse Russian legsweep for the first pin of the match. Peter was then free to concentrate on helping Ryan wear down Johnny with several double-team moves. Utilizing a purely devious strategy, Peter waited until Johnny was completely exhausted, then clotheslined Ryan over the ropes without warning and hit a second reverse Russian legsweep on Johnny for another three-count. However, Crash, the most hated enemy of the stable in which Peter claimed membership, suddenly ran to the ring and nailed Peter with a pumphandle slam. Upon leaving the squared circle, Crash was confronted by Derek, whom he dealt with in an orderly fashion, hitting Grant's younger brother in the stomach with his billy club. As Crash fled to the locker room area, Ryan delivered a Northern Lights suplex to Peter for the final pinfall of the match to retain his title. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next contest pitted Bryce Aaron Curtis against Brandon "Brando" Cowles for the AGCSWF European championship. Bryce had agreed to keep his valet, Candie Hansen, from appearing at ringside, so for once the playing field was level. Brandon tore into his opponent at the outset of the match, hitting him with a flurry of punches and kicks and then connecting with a clothesline off the ropes. The humiliation of having been defeated by Bryce on two previous occasions had obviously incensed Brandon to the point where he was wrestling like a man possessed. However, Bryce, who had the definite height and strength advantage, eventually reversed the challenger's momentum by hitting him with a big boot and a gutbuster. Bryce then left the ring for a moment, returning with a steel chair in his hands. He slammed the weapon over Brandon's head and went for the cover, but surprisingly was only able to get a two-count. Shortly thereafter, Brandon picked up the chair and smashed it into Bryce's knee, then threw it out of the ring and went to work on Bryce's injured leg, repeatedly wrenching and stomping on it. Although Bryce was in severe pain, there was not much the referee could do to help him unless he managed to reach the ropes, which he was temporarily unable to do once Brandon caught him in an anklelock submission hold. Bryce kicked and struggled, not wanting to suffer the embarrassment of tapping out, and somehow draped one of his arms over the bottom rope, meaning that Brandon had to break the hold. As the challenger got to his feet, Bryce used his good leg to deliver a mule kick to Brandon's groin. Bryce then leaned on the ropes to aid himself in standing up, charged forward, and leveled his adversary with a clothesline of his own. Despite his injury, Bryce seemed to be in good spirits as he measured the challenger and went for a legdrop, which he narrowly missed due to the fact that Brandon rolled out of the way in the nick of time. As the fans excitedly chanted his name, Brandon took hold of Bryce and decimated him with his finisher, the brainbuster suplex, then scored a three-count to finally end the European champ's undefeated streak. After the match, Brandon held his newly-won title belt in the air and headed backstage, walking right past a distraught Candie Hansen, who was standing in the entranceway. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The culmination of a feud which had lasted for several weeks was about to take place, as Grant Ankrom, the Intercontinental champion, was about to once again put his belt up for grabs in a one-on-one contest against his greatest arch-enemy, Crash. Once both combatants were in the ring and the bell had been sounded, Crash walked over to Grant and stared him right in the eyes, revealing that the two men were about the same height. The champion and his adversary then got into a shoving match that quickly came to an end when "Big R" Russell Davis and Peter Hartman showed up. Although Crash had been in the ring with more than one member of Grant's stable on several occasions, things were a bit different now, because this time Russell and Peter were carrying lengths of metal pipe, which they didn't hesitate to use on the challenger. As the match degenerated into a glorified gang attack, the crowd screamed for Fast Eddie to come out and save his friend. But when Eddie finally appeared, he was knocked unconscious thanks to Derek Ankrom, who was wielding a snow shovel. Derek entered the squared circle, tossed the shovel to Grant, and helped "Big R" hold Crash in place as the champion stepped back and smashed the weapon over his adversary's head. Grant then hit a modified Death Valley Driver to finish Crash off; however, they weren't done with him yet by a long shot. All four men teamed up to roll Crash to the outside and placed him on the announcer's table, sending commentators George Edgerly and Rey Meyers scrambling for safety. Grant then returned to the ring, climbed to the top turnbuckle, and hit a flying elbowdrop right through the table, shocking everyone in attendance and nearly breaking the challenger in half. Finally, Peter and Russell pulled a helpless Crash back into the squared circle, while Derek helped his older brother to his feet. Grant then scored the pinfall with no trouble whatsoever, but the bigger story here was that Crash appeared to have been seriously injured, as EMTs and Federation officials flooded the ring and forced Grant's clique to leave. As the champion headed backstage, he took a moment to laugh at the condition of his battered and bloody opponent, then kicked a recovering Eddie in the face when he got in Grant's way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The AGCSWF World Heavyweight champion, Adam Taylor, came out to face off against Ruudboy in a non-title match. The two competitors locked up, and Adam immediately gained the advantage by raking his opponent's eyes, punching him in the stomach, and connecting with a rolling DDT for a two-count. Adam then placed Ruudboy against the ropes and clotheslined him to the outside, but Ruudboy moved out of the way when the champion attempted a full-body splash. Now it was Ruudboy's turn to manhandle his adversary, rolling Adam into the ring and taking him down with a clothesline; he followed that up by hitting a bulldog for another nearfall. During the next few minutes, Adam eventually began to turn things back around, which was a testament to his resiliency and "never-say-die" attitude. The undaunted World champ punished Ruudboy with a vertical suplex and almost pinned him following a sunset flip. Adam then set Ruudboy up and delivered his trademark finisher, the Adam Taylor Takedown, for the victory. However, as he celebrated his win, Chad Martinac's theme music suddenly interrupted the proceedings, and the number-one contender for Adam's title nonchalantly strolled to the ring with a microphone in his hand. But before Chad could even get one word out, Adam abruptly lunged forward and knocked him out of commission with the Adam Taylor Takedown, angering a lot of people by taking his belt and leaving as the show came to a close. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ List of AGCSWF Champions as of September 25, 2000: World Heavyweight: Adam Taylor Intercontinental: Grant Ankrom European: Brandon "Brando" Cowles Triple Threat: Razor Hardcore: Matt Roberts Tag Team: "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison Television: Ryan Estes Lightheavyweight: Chad Ehrmann ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ All contents are property of the AGCS Wrestling Federation copyright 1999-2009.
