Before Derek's theme music could play, Brandon picked up a microphone and said, "Bryce Aaron Curtis, you've proven that you don't have the guts to wrestle me without Candie Hansen at your side, but I'm tired of being cheated out of the...no, out of MY European title. So I'm challenging you to put that belt up for grabs just one more time, with a special stipulation: if Candie even thinks of interfering, the title will be taken from around your ugly waist and given to me. Seems like a good deal, right? I know you've got a match of your own this evening, so make your decision and let me know, or you'll both regret ever meeting me in the first place." Brandon then gave the microphone to the referee and awaited the entrance of Derek, who brought along his stablemates Peter Hartman and "Big R" Russell Davis, although Derek's older brother Grant was not with them. Brandon wasted no time in going after Derek, kicking him in the stomach a few times and then hitting him with a flying clothesline off the ropes. As Derek got to his feet, he was taken down with a hip toss, which Brandon capitalized on by applying a sleeperhold. At this point, Peter jumped up onto the ring apron, but Brandon knocked him back to the ground with a picture-perfect dropkick, then connected with the same move on Derek. Now it was "Big R" who attempted to distract Brandon, and it would have worked except for the fact that Crash was lying in wait for Russell when he turned away from the action for a moment. Crash hit "Big R" over the head with his billy club, entered the ring, and struck Derek in the head as well; he then left the squared circle and got into a brawl with Peter. Taking advantage of the situation, Brandon grabbed ahold of Derek and delivered a brainbuster suplex for the pinfall victory, then headed to the locker room area, making sure to slug Peter Hartman in the mouth before he went. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next up was a six-man tag team confrontation involving Ruudboy, Johnny Lively, and the AGCSWF Triple Threat champion Razor taking on the Television champ Ryan Estes, Clay Fergusen, and the Lightheavyweight champion Chad Ehrmann. There was quite a bit of history between the two teams as Johnny started out by spearing Ryan to the mat and locking on a chokehold. Ryan escaped the predicament with a knee to his adversary's groin, then caught Johnny with a swinging neckbreaker and tagged Clay into the ring. But Johnny reached over and tagged Razor, who leveled Clay with repeated chest slaps and then stunned him with a headscissors takedown and a facebuster. The Triple Threat champ went for the cover, but Ryan rushed in and made the save, clotheslining Razor over the ropes and following him outside the ring. Johnny then shocked everyone in attendance by propelling himself into a suicide dive over the ropes, flattening both his partner and his opponent. Clay and Chad viciously double-teamed Ruudboy for the next few minutes until Razor finally returned to action, slamming a metal lunch tray over Clay's head and then walking into a double-arm DDT from the Lightheavyweight champ. Ryan and Johnny continued to brawl back and forth, eventually going over the ringside barrier and landing in the midst of the crowd. Back in the squared circle, Chad produced his brass knuckles and used them to eliminate Razor from competition. Suddenly, Andrew McShane got involved in the match, attacking Clay from behind and leaving him open to a bulldog courtesy of Ruudboy. Chad angrily stopped what he was doing to chase after Andrew, and it was then that Johnny showed up again with Ryan in tow. Razor, Clay, Ryan, and Chad were all either dazed or distracted, making it easy for Ruudboy to grab Ryan and hit his trademark finishing move, the Ruuditude. However, Ruudboy didn't go for the pin; rather, he helped Ryan to a standing position, then moved out of the way so that Johnny could stun the TV titleholder with an Ace crusher. Johnny then scored a three-count to give his team the victory, and the conquering heroes headed backstage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac, the number-one contender for the AGCSWF World Heavyweight championship, appeared at the top of the entrance ramp with a microphone in his hand. "You know," Chad began, "the first time I ever stepped into an AGCSWF ring, I wrestled in a TV title match that involved five other men. A lot of people assumed that I didn't have much ability just because I didn't win that match. Well, I think it's safe to say that those people were flat-out wrong, because when you look at the 'Jitterbug,' you're looking at the next World champion, and that's a fact, plain and simple. I don't know when I'll get my shot against Adam Taylor, because knowing him, he'll probably want to avoid facing me for as long as he can." "That's just fine with me, though. He can run all he wants, but eventually I'm going to catch up with him. He's not going to get rid of me that easily..." Chad was suddenly cut off by Adam Taylor's music blasting through the speakers as the World champ made his way through the curtains with a microphone in one hand and his title belt in the other. "Alright, I think we've heard just about enough outta you, buddy," Adam said. "You may be convinced that you're the next World champion, but I've got a news flash for you: no one else feels the same way. You'll get your shot soon enough, that is unless you lose a match between now and the time that I decide to let you step into the ring with me. So keep that in mind, Chad, 'cuz the minute you let down your guard, you could end up all the way back down on the bottom rung." Adam then ended the segment by throwing his mic to Chad and leaving. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison defended their Tag Team titles against the number-one contenders, "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts and Chris "Chrispytoast" Burros. Dustin and Jared had been the Tag champs for almost two months mainly due to the fact that there were hardly any other quality teams, but tonight there was a good chance that they might be losing the belts to the talented duo of Tyler and Chris. For the first few minutes, the action swung back and forth as Tyler and Chrispy took each other on, and after awhile the challengers were joined at ringside by their companions, Justin Penkert and Tina Vandiver. Jared tagged out to Dustin, and the champs went to work on Chrispy, who was relieved when Tyler came to his aid and crushed Jared with a cross body block for a nearfall. "Triple-D" whipped Tyler off the ropes and clotheslined him, then hit a fallaway slam for a two-count of his own. In the meantime, Jared had maneuvered Chrispy into the corner and placed him on the top rope, setting him up and landing a superplex that had both men writhing in pain. Jared then covered his opponent, but Tyler ran in from the side and went for a big splash. However, "Action Jim" rolled out of the way just in time, and Tyler ended up splashing Chrispy by accident. Jared made the cover once more, and this time there was no one to interrupt him, because "Triple-D" hit Tyler with a solid kick to the chest. Right after the referee called for the bell, Justin entered the fracas and helped Tyler and Chrispy exact revenge on the victorious Tag champions. The Haere Brothers, E. Haere and N. Haere, then sprinted to the ring as well, causing a huge fight to break out. The matter was resolved, though, when Dustin and Jared used their title belts to rid the squared circle of everyone but themselves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The AGCSWF European champion, Bryce Aaron Curtis, who was flanked by his valet Candie Hansen, prepared to do battle with Nathan Bonner. Prior to his opponent's introduction, Bryce demanded a microphone and rebutted Brandon Cowles' earlier statements by saying, "Hey Brandon, you stupid punk...do you really think you have a chance of beating me? It doesn't matter if Candie gets involved, because I can still pin you without any trouble at all. I've already done it twice, and I'll have no problem doing it a third time. Just to prove how confident I am that there's no way you'll ever beat me, I'll put the European title on the line next week, and Candie won't even come to the ring with me. Chew on that, little man!" Having spoken his piece, Bryce went to work on Nathan, knocking the challenger off-balance with a big boot, then forcing the air out of him with a gutbuster. The champion took a moment to brutally stomp on Nathan before hurling him through the ropes and hitting a flying clothesline off the ring apron. Candie Hansen clapped her hands as Bryce pulled the challenger to his feet and rammed him into the steel ring steps. Nathan desperately attempted to fight back, pulling a steel chair out from underneath the squared circle and smashing it over Bryce's forehead, then scrambling to get away before Bryce could recover. Incensed, the champion went after his opponent with the chair, but Nathan jumped up and dropkicked the weapon into Bryce's face, then nailed an axe-kick to the back of his head. However, because the two superstars were still outside the ring, Nathan couldn't go for the cover, and Bryce's fallen form was apparently too heavy for him to lift and carry. At that point, Candie walked over to Nathan and began to argue with him, hoping to buy her charge as much time as possible. This gave an exhausted Bryce the opportunity to take hold of the chair and hit Nathan in the spine, then throw him into the ring and legdrop him for a three-count. Afterwards, Bryce measured his opponent and delivered another legdrop out of spite, then took the chair and slammed it into Nathan's leg over and over again until referees flooded the ring to restore order. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next match was for the AGCSWF Hardcore title, with Matt Roberts, who had only been pinned once in his career, taking on "Big R" Russell Davis. As was the custom of Federation champions, Matt entered the arena first, accompanied by Dane Gammon, who went ahead of his friend to set up a folding table in the ring. As Matt walked towards the squared circle, "Big R" ran up behind him and slammed a snow shovel across his back. The referee hurriedly called for the bell, and Matt surprised the challenger by standing motionless for a second, then turning around and kicking the shovel out of Russell's hands. "Big R" tried to reach for the weapon, but Matt grabbed him around the throat and chokeslammed him onto the unyielding entrance ramp. Derek Ankrom came out to help Russell and was violently chokeslammed onto the ramp as well. Matt ignored the mixture of cheers and boos that the fans were directing his way, preferring to concentrate on relocating Russell's body into the ring, where he powerbombed his adversary and then dropped an elbow onto his chest. The champion put the icing on the cake by chokeslamming "Big R" through the table which Dane had set up, scoring an effortless three-count and adding to his list of victories. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The fans erupted into loud boos as Grant Ankrom, the undefeated AGCSWF Intercontinental champion, came to the ring accompanied by Peter Hartman for his scheduled title defense. Grant's opponent, Fast Eddie, brought some backup of his own in the form of Crash, and the two combatants locked up to start the match. Grant took over with a clothesline and a scoopslam, then glowered at Crash as he lifted Eddie into the air and punished him with a backbreaker. But Eddie courageously hit a powerslam off the ropes and followed up on that with several stomps to Grant's midsection. While all of this was going on, Peter and Crash mercilessly taunted one another until neither man could take it any longer and the two engaged in a fistfight. It was then that Eddie made a mistake which would prove to be fatal, because instead of ignoring what was going on outside the ring, he ascended to the top turnbuckle and positioned himself so that he could hit an airborne move onto Peter. However, Grant saw it coming and pulled Eddie the other way, causing him to plunge backwards into the ring. The Intercontinental champ then picked Eddie up and delivered his modified Death Valley Driver for a quick pinfall to retain his title. Once Peter realized that his friend had won the match, he stopped fighting with Crash and retreated to the locker room area with Grant, leaving a perplexed Crash to wonder exactly what had just happened. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the final match of the evening, E. Haere made his way to the squared circle to face Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac. E. Haere was not accompanied by his brother N. Haere, who had suffered bruised ribs during his post-match brawl with Dustin Day and Jared Brison earlier in the show. Chad started things off with a couple of forearm smashes to E. Haere's face, then whipped his opponent towards the ropes and hit a running leg lariat. E. Haere struggled to get his bearings as he was knocked down with a clothesline, dropped on his head with a release German suplex, and nearly snapped in half with an abdominal stretch into a pumphandle slam. However, he somehow managed to get a second wind not too long afterwards, wrapping Chad up in a crucifix for a two-count. E. Haere then delivered a spinebuster for another nearfall, but Chad regained the advantage by catching E. Haere when he attempted a hurricanrana and driving him into the mat. Without warning, a bandaged N. Haere came to the ring and engaged Chad in combat so that his brother could have a chance at recuperation. Chad quickly dealt with the interfering party by whipping him off the ropes, hitting a sidewalk slam, then finishing him off with a "tombstone" piledriver. When Chad turned around, E. Haere kicked him in the gut and tried to set him up for a DDT, but Chad reversed the move and hit a faceplant, then delivered a back suplex into a sit-down Ligerbomb and went for the cover, scoring the pin and retaining his number-one contendership status. As the seventh AGCSWF show came to a close, Chad left the Haere Brothers lying in the ring and celebrated his victory with the fans, wondering when he would finally be granted another World title shot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ List of AGCSWF Champions as of September 18, 2000: World Heavyweight: Adam Taylor Intercontinental: Grant Ankrom European: Bryce Aaron Curtis Triple Threat: Razor Hardcore: Matt Roberts Tag Team: "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison Television: Ryan Estes Lightheavyweight: Chad Ehrmann All contents are property of the AGCS Wrestling Federation copyright 1999-2009.
