~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Results From the 9/11/2000 AGCSWF Live Event-- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The 9/11/2000 AGCSWF show started out with Adam Taylor's entrance music blasting throughout the arena as the reigning World Heavyweight champion came to the ring and raised a microphone to his lips. "Hey, Chad Martinac," Adam began. "You didn't have any right to get involved in my title defense last Monday, and even though I appreciate your help, I didn't need it. If you were tryin' to prove how tough you are by attacking Nathan Bonner and then doing the same thing to me, let me tell you that it didn't work. But I will say that this whole three-way feud between you, me, and Matt Roberts has already gone on for way too long." Adam was then interrupted by Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac, who proceeded to use his own microphone. "You know something, Adam? You're absolutely correct. I know it doesn't happen all that often, but you've made a very good point: this World title feud has to end at some point soon. I'm sure you're tired of getting beat up every week, so why don't you go ahead and grant me another title shot, because I deserve one more than anyone else in this federation, and that's a fact." "Well, I'd like to give you another shot at my belt, 'cuz I agree that you definitely deserve it," Adam replied, "but I don't think Matt Roberts'd be very happy if you got a title match before he did. So it looks like you guys are gonna have to face off against each other tonight in a number-one contenders match, and the winner will have the honor of being named the new number-one contender, which means you will get your shot in due time. If you don't like that arrangement, then try complaining to someone who cares." A look of horror came over Chad's face as he realized the prospects of having to wrestle the Hardcore champ later on that evening, but he had no choice in the matter, because Adam had already dropped the mic and made his way to the backstage area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the opening contest, Razor, the AGCSWF Triple Threat champion, put his belt up for grabs against Ruudboy and Johnny Lively in what some people were calling a good example of bad matchmaking. The truth was that both Ruudboy and Johnny, who were acquaintances with Razor outside of the ring, wanted a chance at winning the Triple Threat title, and officials had figured that it would make for an exciting bout to put them in the ring against the champ at the same time. However, the situation looked grim for Razor, as the challengers attacked him at the onset of the match and caught him with a double-team clothesline off the ropes and a bone-rattling tandem suplex. Razor did his best to fight back, hitting a spinning heel kick on Ruudboy and then tackling Johnny, but Ruudboy rolled outside the ring and picked up two steel chairs, one of which he tossed to his fellow contender. Ruudboy then waited until Razor had turned around and smashed the chair over his opponent's head. The champion stumbled backwards in a daze, turned to face Johnny, and became the recipient of a second chair shot, leaving him flat on his back. Ruudboy capitalized on this by going for a pinfall which was broken up by Johnny. This resulted in a heated argument between the two friends, giving Razor time to recover. Eventually, Johnny pulled the champ to his feet, placed him up against the ropes, and went for a clothesline that was reversed into a back body-drop, landing him outside the ring. Ruudboy then charged full-steam at his adversary, but found himself being flipped over the ropes as well. The fans knew what was coming next, as Razor deftly climbed to the top turnbuckle and launched into a corkscrew plancha that connected with both of his opponents, leaving all three men in a pile on the arena floor. Moments later, Johnny retaliated by hurling Razor into the steel ring steps, then pulling the steps loose and placing them in the middle of the squared circle, perhaps in preparation for another move of some kind. Once Razor and Ruudboy had returned to action, the two-on-one assault continued until Razor managed to take Johnny out with a suplex into a driver. The match might have ended right there, but Ruudboy intervened just in time. In response to this, Razor jumped to his feet and took off running towards the opposite side of the ring. Ruudboy didn't know what the champion was planning to do, but just the same, he stooped over to grab a nearby chair, making sure to keep it hidden. In the meantime, Razor bounced off the ropes and used the steel steps as a platform to propel himself across the ring into a flying bodypress. At the last possible second, Ruudboy stepped forward and blindly swung the chair, leaving Razor to collide head-first with it. The champion crashed painfully to the mat and lay still as the crowd exploded into sympathetic groans and raucous cheers. Ruudboy stood there for a moment, not quite realizing what he had just done; he then snapped out of it and went for the cover, which was again broken up by an exhausted Johnny Lively. This time, Ruudboy demanded to know why Johnny wouldn't let him pin Razor, and he furiously punched his friend in the mouth when Johnny tried to shove him away. The match quickly degenerated into a brawl as the two challengers concentrated on destroying one another, completely oblivious to the fact that Razor could have easily been pinned at any time. After a few minutes of this, Ruudboy hit Johnny with his finisher, the Ruuditude, then pitched him over the ropes and covered Razor for a third time. To the surprise of everyone, Razor somehow kicked out of the pin attempt, and it was then that the AGCSWF Television champion, Ryan Estes, sprinted to ringside and went after Johnny. Ruudboy had picked Razor up and was about to nail him with the Ruuditude when he noticed what was happening outside the ring and let go of his adversary to confront Ryan. As Ruudboy and Ryan shouted back and forth, Razor tapped Ruudboy on the shoulder, then kicked him in the stomach and hit a facebuster for the three-count. After the match, Ryan entered the squared circle and began to beat on Ruudboy, but Razor would have none of it, as he attacked Ryan and chased him off, then shook the hands of both Ruudboy and Johnny for what had been perhaps the greatest match of each of their short careers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The team of "Big R" Russell Davis and Peter Hartman walked down the entrance ramp along with Derek Ankrom for their scheduled grudge match against Crash and Fast Eddie. The fans cheered loudly as Crash and Eddie ran to the ring and got into a brawl with their opponents, and although Derek tried to get involved, he was quickly dispatched to the outside when Crash hit him in the head with a billy club. Peter then took the weapon from Crash and tried to use it on him, but Eddie took Peter's knee out with a chop-block from behind. "Big R" came to his teammate's rescue, clotheslining Eddie over the ropes and nailing Crash with a big boot to the face. The match went back and forth in this manner for quite some time, until Derek managed to recover and entered the ring carrying a fire extinguisher, which he emptied over the face of Crash. He then handed the extinguisher to Russell, who used it to clock Eddie in the head, knocking him unconscious. As Crash struggled to wipe his eyes so that he could see well enough to fight back, Peter decimated him with a stuff piledriver. Now it was time for Grant Ankrom to make an appearance, as the Intercontinental champion came to the ring and put the finishing touches on what had just happened by delivering a modified Death Valley Driver to not only Crash but Fast Eddie as well. This resulted in Peter Hartman scoring the pin over a helpless Crash to give the victory to his team. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next bout featured Chad Ehrmann defending his AGCSWF Lightheavyweight title in a fatal four-way elimination match against Andrew McShane, Jared Rupp, and "Action" Tim Brison. All three of Chad's opponents had major scores to settle with him, and it was Jared starting out the contest with several European uppercuts followed by a scoopslam to the champion. Andrew's turn came next, as he stomped on Chad's neck and back, then hit a slingshot suplex and a knee to the stomach. Finally, "Action" Tim got a piece of his archenemy, lifting Chad up only to catch him with a faceplant and a shoulderbreaker. Jared then clotheslined Chad over the ropes and was jumped by Andrew when he turned around. For awhile, none of the remaining three combatants were able to get a clear advantage over any of their opponents, but eventually, Andrew wore down Jared enough so that he could maneuver him into the corner, where he placed Jared on the top turnbuckle and delivered a hurricanrana to the mat below. Andrew then went for the cover, but "Action" Tim climbed to the top rope as well, plunging downwards and hitting a diving headbutt onto Andrew. With both Andrew and Tim delirious from the pain, Jared struggled to his feet, caught Tim with a spinebuster that nearly knocked the smaller combatant out cold, then grabbed his legs and flipped forward into pinning position for the three-count. It was at this time that Chad showed up again, only now, he was wearing his infamous brass knuckles. Upon seeing the champion enter the ring, Jared and Andrew went after him, bouncing him off the ropes and trying for a tandem back body-drop. However, Chad saw the move coming, dropped Andrew with a solid punch to the head, then hit a double-arm DDT on Jared for a two-count. There was no doubt in the minds of the fans as to whether Chad possessed any actual wrestling skill, but they booed him anyway as he set Andrew up and launched into a fall-forward powerbomb. Chad's pinfall attempt was thwarted by Jared, who violently whipped Chad into the corner and scored the pin on Andrew himself. The Lightheavyweight champ was incensed as he and Jared locked up in the center of the ring, and he informed the challenger of his displeasure by giving him a black eye with the brass knuckles. Jared collapsed instantly, and doing his best to avoid the trash that was being thrown his way by angry fans, Chad scored the three-count, then took his title belt and retreated to the locker room area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Haere Brothers, E. Haere and N. Haere, made their way to the ring for a match against "Tytanic" Tyler Knotts and Chris "Chrispytoast" Burros, where the winners would go on to face the AGCSWF Tag Team champs, "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison, at the next event. The Haere Brothers were at a considerable size disadvantage, but that didn't stop them from targeting their opponents before the bell had sounded. Tyler and Chrispy stood their ground and fought back as best they could, but not even two minutes had passed when Justin Penkert and his valet Tina Vandiver appeared at ringside from out of nowhere. All four competitors were baffled as to who Justin might have come to help, but their questions were answered when he took N. Haere down with a roundhouse kick to the head. Tyler then surprised E. Haere with a belly-to-belly suplex, placing him in perfect position for a splash off the ropes from Chrispy. Justin kept N. Haere from getting involved by locking on a Boston Crab, and although N. Haere was able to reach the ropes, the referee could not break the hold due to the fact that Justin was not legally a part of the match. Shorty thereafter, Chrispy and Tyler hit a double spinebuster on E. Haere to seal the victory. Following the match, the new number-one contenders for the AGCSWF Tag titles left the ring along with Justin and Tina, signifying the beginning of a dangerous alliance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The AGCSWF European champion, Bryce Aaron Curtis, stalked to the ring accompanied by his valet, Candie Hansen. Bryce was visibly on edge for some reason, and the fact that he was defending his title against the towering Nicholaas Leembruggen didn't help matters much. However, Bryce was actually about the same height as Nick, so this gave him a bit of leverage in dealing with the challenger. Nick started out with a series of kicks and punches, then almost took Bryce off his feet with a running forearm. The champion recovered in due time and punished his adversary with a rising knee to the face followed by a clothesline and a big elbow. It was then that Brandon "Brando" Cowles made his presence known, storming the ring and assaulting Bryce and Nick with a wooden baseball bat, which he slammed into the gut of both men. The fans burst into cheers as Brandon repeatedly struck Bryce in the ribs and spine, but just then, Candie Hansen entered the squared circle and aided her charge by hitting a low blow on Brandon. She then took the baseball bat and swung at Brandon with all her might, narrowly missing him by only a few inches. While this was going on, Bryce slowly stood up, slugged Brandon in the back of the neck, then grabbed the bat out of Candie's hands and splintered it over Nick's head. The champion measured his opponent, delivered a legdrop, and got the three-count to retain his belt. As Bryce prepared to leave the ring, Brandon jumped him for a second time, and the two bitter enemies engaged in a fierce brawl which was eventually broken up by referees and officials. As Brandon was led out of the arena, he threatened the European champ and told him that he wouldn't have the belt for too much longer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next-to-last match of the night pitted Grant Ankrom, the despised Intercontinental champ, against Eric Delzell, who had yet to really prove himself as a valuable player in the AGCSWF but had been given a title shot by request. Grant didn't seem worried about the challenger's in-ring abilities, because he didn't even bring any of his stablemates to the ring with him. As Eric cautiously stepped through the ropes, Grant walked over and offered to shake his hand in a gesture of respect. However, when Eric reached his arm out, the champion smashed his title belt into Eric's forehead, then set the challenger up and hit a modified Death Valley Driver. This led to the pinfall, and when a dejected Eric came to his senses, Grant had already picked up his belt and headed to the locker room area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The final bout was a very important one, as the winner would go on to face Adam Taylor for the AGCSWF World championship at an unspecified date. The combatants were Chad "Jitterbug" Martinac and Matt Roberts, who was the undefeated Hardcore champion as well as being a World title contender. For once, Matt didn't bring Dane Gammon to the ring with him, but as always, he did bring a table which he set up in the center of the ring. Matt unleashed several stiff punches and a gutbuster on Chad to start things off, then held his opponent in the air and dropped him throat-first across the ropes. When Matt went for the cover, Chad kicked out, rolling between the ropes and escaping the ring in order to give himself time to recuperate. Matt chased after his adversary, and the brawl continued on the outside, with Chad eventually getting the upper hand after producing a length of metal pipe from underneath the ring. Chad frantically jammed the pipe into Matt's midsection, then rasied the weapon and brought it down on his opponent's lower back. Matt shook off the pain and grabbed Chad around the throat, preparing to chokeslam him through the announcer's table nearby. But Chad was not about to let the match end that easily, as he wormed his way out of Matt's grip, jumped up onto the table, and dropkicked the Hardcore champ in the knee. Chad then returned to the ring, and when Matt did the same a few minutes later, he was met with a release German suplex and several additional stomps to his injured leg. The fans in attendance were amazed, because this was the first time that anyone had ever gotten Matt off of his feet. Just then, Dane Gammon got involved, clearing the ropes and engaging in a fistfight with Chad. As Dane and Chad fought back and forth, none other than Adam Taylor showed up to even the score by opening up a large gash on Dane's forehead with the World title belt. Adam then did the same thing to Matt, who had been just about to go after Chad again. Although Chad was puzzled by the actions of the World champion, he nevertheless joined Adam in placing Matt on top of the folding table which he had set up earlier. Adam then disappeared from the ring, leaving Chad to climb to the top turnbuckle and deliver a Centon bomb through the table for the victory. Afterwards, Chad celebrated his status as the new number-one contender for the World title, as well as the fact that he had become first man in history to put a win over Matt Roberts. Even though the Hardcore title had not been on the line, it didn't matter to Chad, because now he had another chance to realize his true dream of becoming the World champ. As the show came to a close, Adam taunted the fallen duo of Matt and Dane from the top of the entrance ramp, then pointed in Chad's direction and symbolically held his belt in the air. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ List of AGCSWF Champions as of September 11, 2000: World Heavyweight: Adam Taylor Intercontinental: Grant Ankrom European: Bryce Aaron Curtis Triple Threat: Razor Hardcore: Matt Roberts Tag Team: "Triple-D" Dustin Day and Jared "Action Jim" Brison Television: Ryan Estes Lightheavyweight: Chad Ehrmann ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ All contents are property of the AGCS Wrestling Federation copyright 1999-2009.
