All About Me

Hi, and thanks for stopping by my page. So, you've clicked in here to find out more about me, huh? Well, then, let's not disappoint you.

First off, my name is Breean; my friends all call me Bree (it's a whole lot easier to pronounce). I've spent all my life in Missouri, born and raised, since November of 1980. I am currently a college senior at UMKC, majoring in English with an emphasis on creative writing. I was home-schooled from kindergarten through high school. I've taken honors classes and joined Phi Theta Kappa. I received a Bright Flight from the state of Missouri for acquiring a 30 on my ACT.

My life is so extremely busy the only way I could find time to set up my home page was for it to be a requirement for one of my courses. (You happen to be looking at my English 102 final.) I'm currently taking 12 hours at college. I work part-time (28+ hours a week) as a pharmacy technician, which just means the only things we can't do that the pharmacist can are take new prescriptions, transfers, check filled prescriptions, and counsel patients. I also worked part-time as a Spanish tutor at college, and we cram pet/house-sitting in whenever the opportunity arises.

God is a tremendously huge part of my life and I honestly don't know where I'd be without Him. I consider it extremely important to make time for church and the people there because we're family and it's where God has placed me right now. I've been going to Christ Covenant Church for a good seventeen years now, and you can find me there Sunday mornings and evenings. On the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, our youth have a home study group at our youth leaders' house. Currently, my little brother is just beginning to take over the teaching aspects of our meetings.

One of my best friends, Heather, is a p.k. (pastor's kid) We've been friends since I started going to her dad's church when it was still Full Faith Church of Love-East. We made our own graduation ceremony together at our church in June of 1999. It was so cool!

I am aspiring to be a writer, maybe an editor, one day. That would be why I have such an extensive works page, with a little of everything on it. My real dream, impossible as it is, is to be the next Meredith Brooks. I do play the guitar, piano, and can do a pretty good drum roll. At church, I sing on the worship team and since July have been leading worship at least twice a month. Depending on who happens to be singing with me, I can and do sing both melody and harmony.

For those of you who think I'm sounding pretty nice about now, I think I ought to let you know I do not date; in fact, I refuse to date. I happen to prefer the "old-fashioned" method (courtship), which means I only need guys as friends. So, feel free to drop me an e-mail. If you're comfortably friendly, I will reply. Just keep in mind I've sworn off dating and I have a bunch of guy friends that would kill for my sake (especially my pharmacists).

For those of you who think I'm bragging on and on about myself and I'm probably pretty stuck up, you're probably right, but if you had the chance to tell the world about yourself, what would you say?

Yeah, I am a jerk sometimes, but God loves me anyway, and we're working on me together. So, if you would forgive me for rattling on and on about me, I'll go back to doing more important things, like my final papers for History of the English Language or Medieval Literature and working on my poetry portfolio.
