I
am a radical feminist. Radical feminism as defined by Mary Daly is: "be-ing
for women and all Elemental Life, which implies going to the roots of the oppression
of all Others." I am against all forms of oppression and all hierarchalized structures.
I like to watch good movies, crime shows on TV, and all assortment of music videos. I hope someday to be able to make my own independent films and music videos as well. Sometimes nature shows on TV are interesting as well. I like to learn about things I haven't ever really thought about before, like the show on giant squids I saw one night.
My mother lives in Nashville and is a writer. She has a law degree and was an english teacher for 17 years. My father lives in Walnut, CA and has his own wedding video company. I have a pet cat named Cassia who gave birth to two kittens last October, and likes to hop around my mom's apartment. She is a very friendly cat.
I attend Antioch College. I have my own radio show there and am working towards a degree in Feminist Studies and Communications. I am interested in the study of mushrooms as well, and am also reading a book on javascript programming. I took a class in performance art last term and I'm interested in learning more about Fluxus. I also work on my own performance art projects.
I play guitar, sing, and write my own songs. I have about 12 I'm working on right now. I also write poetry. Some of my favorite poets are Sylvia Plath, Lisa Lewis, and Adrienne Rich. I don't like a lot of modern poetry. I prefer sincerity to psuedointellectualism, and today that's hard to come by. I like non-fiction novels the best, but I am reading the new Stephen King.
My favorite foods are artichokes and lobster. I eat in the Antioch cafeteria most often times, and I like when they have taco day. I also like crabs' legs with butter. Steak can be nice. When I am on Mackinac Island, my favorite thing to eat is planked whitefish.
I like to play video games on occasion. I like role playing games the best, followed by the action games. My favorite board game to play is Scrabble. I play it with my mom when I'm in Nashville. We also play pool sometimes.
I'm happy with my life right now. Things are going well. I'm looking forward to the future.
