MU Clinches at least a Share of C-USA title w/win over UAB 98-87

Game Summary

With Saturday nights win over UAB, the Marquette Golden Eagles clinched at least a share of the C-USA regular season title. A win next weekend over Cincinnati would give the Eagles sole possession of the title or Memphis losses would end of for the same result for Marquette. The game was something to be happy for, besides coming off of a big win @ Louisville, it was fan appreciation night and the 21st anniversary of the birth of one certain MU ball player...a one Travis Diener. My birthday present to you Mr. Diener is this game's vote for player of the game. Goat of the game goes to UAB's Morris Finley who poured in an amazing 31 points in their loss. Towards the end of the game, it really got to be drawn out as with most blowouts, with pitty fouls and UAB's "time saving strategy" of rolling the ball across court. Very Junior-high ish basketball playing by the UAB Blazers. Kudos to UAB 1st year coach Mike Anderson and the rest of the Blazers on their wonderful strategy that allowed them to pull to within 11 points before the game finally ended. Bring on Cinci! - and see you in Louisville for the conference tourney ~ hoperfully
