Something memorable/highlights
about your days or years at Marshall-U
High:
Playing in the band, acting in plays and competing with Mary Jefferson
for grades, we always sat next to each other in junior high, Jefferson,
Johnson . . . I enjoyed the freedom the school evolved into, in junior
high we still had a dress code (all pants worn during the winter walk
had to be removed for dress/skirt attire). It was totally different
5
years later. I felt there was a broader offering of classes available
than most schools at that time and upon reflection consider that a
positive rather than negative experience. At the time I was more
interested in basics so I could get good grades in college, which
I
wound up doing very little of.
What have you been doing since then?
I’ve been in the Graphic Arts business since 1974 and have a
home-based
business doing Graphic Design and Production.
Other interesting things about yourself that
you’d like us to know:
I’ve learned a lot about finding inner peace and happiness through
various spiritual studies and meditation. I became a vegan in 1988
and
for 13 years abstained from white flour/white sugar. (I’m currently
trying to break the chocolate habit.) I love being a mom and adore
my
three sons, who are the light of my life. I sing in my church choir
for 3-4 performances a year, which is a joyful experience for me.
My
goal is to write, children’s
stories, books etc., and have many ideas outlined and begun; it’s
amazing how life gets in the way of dreams sometimes. I feel a solid
happiness in my life now, which I didn’t when I was in high
school. I
am very grateful for my spiritual practice which keeps me grounded
during the turbulent times life has to offer.
