Bring a sample of your art, writing & music to share.

For artists who feel they would like feedback about their artwork, we will discuss critique guidelines.

Other possible topics: sales/shows, having your own website, Yahoo group networking, seeing Fringe shows by artists with disabilities, a picnic and more....

1. INTRODUCTIONS:
Each participant shares briefly what is going well in your art life, what is difficult, and what support you would like from the group.

2. BUSINESS MEETING:
READ AGENDA bold-face items: Change as needed. Set up note taker.

OLD BUSINESS:
Critique Guidelines at AWDA Meetings See below the guidelines for giving feedback on creative expressions, art, writing, music, etc., shared at our meetings.

NEW BUSINESS:
AWDA Grant: AWDA will receive about $940 in the next few months. Update provided.
Art Shows/Sales: Sunday, Dec. 16, Global Gift fair (formerly alternative shopping fair) at First Universalist Church, 3400 Dupont Ave. S., Mpls. before/between/after church until 2:00 or 3:00. To participate with AWDA, call Pamela Bottoms, 952-937-5745; reservation fee is $15 per table.

AWDA Workshops What programs or group outings should we offer in 2008?
Input Wanted VSA arts of Minnesota is considering moving to new digs in early 2008. What features or options would you suggest? E.G., complete accessibility, space for meetings & workshops, gallery, small rehearsal/performance area, art storage, near bus line, computer/ equipment for artists to use, etc. One space is in NE Mpls. One in the Lumber Exchange bldg.

3. TIME FOR ART: Share visual art, poetry, music, performance Š
If you share any artistic work, let the group know if you want critique, and whether that critique should be only positive or also include comments on things that didnA?t seem to work. A Members can respond in turn, going around the room, or spontaneously, depending on your wishes. A Feel free to ask specific questions, either of individuals or the group as a whole, such as, A?How did you react to the ending?A? A?Does the piece bring up certain emotions for you?A? A A?IA?m unsure about the way I did xxx; how do you feel about that specific aspect of the piece?A? and so on. There are no other set rules, but many members feel strongly that positive comments should come first, and that criticism should be constructive. Sheets with more detailed suggestions about critique are available from the facilitator.

We request that all meetings be fragrance-free.
