This is a picture of the moon near the time of totality. It appears to be full, but accuaully all of the moon( except upper left (over exposed)) in in the Earth's shadow. The moon takes on a redish orange hue during a lunar eclipse because it still recives some sunlight that reflects off the Earth's atmosphere.
