The Wilkinson's Unedited

Chapter 8: The letter

"So Tyler you’ll do it for me right?” Jonathan was bugging Tyler on the phone.

Tyler wasn’t really paying any attention to what his friend was saying was flipping through a Star Wars magazine. “ I don’t know..” he told him. “ It’s nice you and Sharon are going to go out but why do I have to come?”

“You have to come because otherwise I can’t go!” Jonathan informed Tyler once again.

“Tyler, if you don’t get off that phone this instant, you’re going to be grounded. Tell Jonathan that if he wants to talk he can do it tomorrow at a reasonable hour. Besides, I would like to get online,” Chris hollered from the other room.

“Look, Jonathan, I got to get going, I’ll go. Not a date, but as a favour for you OK?” and he hung up the phone.

Tyler headed into the other room where Amanda was just signing offline.

“Tracey was asking about you,” she told him.

Tyler smiled. “And what did you tell her?” he laughed.

“Oh, that you were busy setting up a date with another girl,” Amanda told him.

Tyler’s face grew to one of concern and he turned red.

“I’m teasing, I told her Jonathan was roping you into another one.”

“Amanda,” Tyler began. “You know about Tracey and I. I’d really rather you not tell her that sort of stuff. Besides, I think I might like her, you know, more than friends?” he pointed out.

“Right, I’m sorry. I won’t do it again,” Amanda told him.

Tyler deciding he had to say something to make sure added a “So when’s that Hanson concert? I just can’t wait to have a heart to heart talk with Ike Mandy,”

“Steve, Steve! Look what just came in the mail!” Chris shouted.

Mr. Wilkinson,

We are extremely sorry about the confusion with the song ‘Shame on Me’ that you and Mr. Burr co-wrote together. Everything has been settled and we know that you 2 are the true writers. Again, we apologize for any inconveince or worrying this may have caused you. That’s why we’d like to give your family a free trip to the Grand Caymans. Tell the kids to bring along some friends! Let us know when you’ll have some time off and we’ll gladly arrange and pay for the trip.

Sincerely, Mr. Edwards
