FEBRARY 07-07 - MONTHLY SESSION
With the assistance of 32 members and 7 guests, among them the Chilean Ambassador in Israel, Mrs Irene Bronfman, was carried out the Monthly Clubòs Session.
As usual the session was opened by reading the Prayer fpr Peace and afterwards the Ambassador reported a very interesting dissertation about, to dayòs South American politics. At the end, our President Mrs. Shoshana Barbaras honored her with a gratefulness diploma, a banner, the Clubòs badge and a bouquet of beautiful flowers.
Our secretary and the treasurer informed that, the last month our Club was enlarged with six new members.
Afterwards Lion Touvia Goldstein informed about his trip to Ecuador, Bolivia and Argentina wherein he participated, together with his wife Lion Ruth (Paty) Alvarez, in lionisticòs activities in Cuenca, Machala, and Quito (Ecuador), in the Cochabambaòs FOLAC ( Bolivia) where he was in charge of the Intercontinental Twinning Event. Finally they visited Buenos Aires.

After his intervention Lion Ruth (Paty) Alvarez handed to our President the artistic present sent to our Club by the Lions Club of Machala her natal city Machala, Ecuador, a beautiful Lion made by a Cuencaòs sculptor, copy of the Lions Statue located in a downtown square (see the photo).
As usual, the meeting ended by birthdays and anniversaries celebrations.
DISTRICTAL WEEK-END IN NAZARETH.
From the, nearly, 300 participants 14 belonged to our Club. The pleasant program helped to increase the knowledge and good-fellowship between our Lions and other communities members.
A special remark belongs to the Trees Plantation in the Biriya Wood that was, almost fully burned (7500 dunams) during the second Lebanon war.
PURIM ACTIVITIES - GIFTS DISTRIBUTION (mishloach manot).
As a tradition, during the Purim Holiday, also this year, our Club prepared presents for needy or disabled children. The committee in charge of this activity, made nice small packets with the sweets and little presents they obtained from different donors (michloach manot). Those gifts were distributed, in co-ordination with the Ramat Gan Social Help Office, in six Kindergartens working in the afternoon (after school) with children from indigent families. The gifts, our Club members delivered, brought the children a very happy holiday.

PURIM PARTY AT THE ZAVELEV’S HOME.
On Friday March 4th we celebrated the traditional Purim Costume Party at Marion and Pedro Zavelev home.
A big group of participants wore costumes referring to movies. We spent a very good time: dancing, performing “sketches” about the costumes and playing games.
We left after midnight, happy for having such a pleasant evening and eating the best food ever imagined prepared by our Hostesses, already famous for their expertise, compared with the best International Chefs.
OUR CLUB’S MONTHLY MEETING ON MARCH 7, 2007.
On March the 7th and with the presence of 35 members and 4 guest was celebrated our monthly general meeting .The subject was the welcoming and nomination of lawyer Uri Slonim as our Club’s PERSONAGE OF THE YEAR.
Mr Slomin has been the President of “VARIETY” World and Israeli Branch, an International Organization for the help of needy and disabled children. Our Clubs’s members had the opportunity of seeing a movie picture presenting part of the Israeli Variety’s activities.
Our President Leon Shoshana Barbaras rendered to the guest a Recognition Diploma proving that Mr Slomin deserves the MAN OF THE YEAR title and, as such, he will participate in the Israel Lions ceremony organized every year in order to stand out the yearly prominent persons.
With great emotion Mr Slomin thanked the designation, our Club honored him with, and said that, although he has received many distinctions this one has, for him, a very important meaning because our Spanish talking Club reminds him his ancestor’s language “Ladino”.
The meeting continued with the Order of the Day including : Leonistic Instructions ,
Commissions Reports and birthdays and anniversaries celebrations.

Invitation to the 47th Israel Lions National Convention. In this opportunity our Founding President was elected (the only candidate) as 3rd Vice District Governor.

VICE DISTRICT GOVERNOR OF LIONS ISRAEL DISTRICT 128.
At the 47th Israel Lions National Convention attended by 220 participants, among them a numerous group of the Club, our Founding President Lion Touvia (Teddy) Goldstein was elected Vice District Governor of the District 128. In the same occasion our member Lion Sergio Schkolnik was corroborated as District Treasurer. It means that, during the period 2007-2008 , two of our Club members will be part of the District Cabinet.
We must emphasize that Lion Touvia Goldstein was honored, by the International President, with the Appreciate Certificate for his efforts to promote the brotherhood and meetings between Lions World Clubs and his outstanding work at the fields of Leadership .

The certificate was delivered to him by the International Director, Convewntion Guest of Honor Lion Miklos Horwarth and District Governor Lion Meir Porat.

PEREGRINAJE LEONISTICO HISPANOPARLANTE A TIERRA SANTA
18-23 ABRIL 2007.
Entre el 17 y 18 de abril llegaron al hotel Tal de Tel Aviv todos los 26 participantes: desde Tacna, Chiclayo, Trujillo y Lima del Perú,(Ana Antunez de Mayolo de Seminario, Jorge Enrique Seminario Valle, Lucia Ávila de Zegarra, Walter Zegarra, Rosa Aliaga de Manrique, Cesar Manrique, Maria La Barrera de Rivas, Juan Alfredo Rivas Rodríguez,. Irene Chávez Gil, Ada Marina Chávez Gil, Héctor Naquira, Eduardo Naquira), Bucaramanga de Colombia, (Nubia Pinilla Amador, Beatriz Mendoza de Cruz), Nueva York de Estados Unidos (Irma Caso, Luis Caso, Lelis Penas, Emma Toolsie), Panamá (Mayra Elena Ferdinez, Melva de Cantoral, Felicidad Arauz, Yadirsa de Chen, Maria del Carmen de Leon, Barbara de Rodríguez) .y de Israe Ruth Elizabeth (Paty) Alvarez de Goldstein, Touvia (Teddy) Goldstein)l. Lamentablemente no llegaron las maletas de tres que, afortunadamente, durante el viaje, les fueron entregadas.
Tuvimos que lamentar la ausencia del maestro Rodolfo "Titi" Marinelli que por motivos de fuerza mayor y de ultima hora no pudo llegar.
Todos fueron recibíos a su llegada en el aeropuerto Ben Gurion de Tel Aviv por un representante de OFAKIM Tours y trasladados al hotel para recibir allí sus respectivas habitaciones.
Algunos que llegaron temprano, tuvieron ocasión de pasear antes del comienzo del programa oficial. Los últimos, llegaron solo una hora antes del comienzo del evento programado esa misma noche en el hotel.
Entre las 20:00 y 20:30, en el salón "Trabar" del Hotel "Tal" se encontraron todos los participantes en el Peregrinaje con todos los socios del Club de Leones Dan Paz-Israel en cabezados por la Presidenta Leon Shoshana Barbaras.
Honraron con su presencia el Gobernador de Disyrito 128-Israel Leon Meir Porat y su esposa León Leah Porat, VGD (3) León Dov Barnoy y su esposa PGD León Carmela Barnoy, Secretaria del Distrito León Ilana Goldman y su esposo Leon Yaron Goldman, Tesorero del Distrito León Sergio Schkolnik (socio de CIRCLE) y su esposa León Eliana Schkolnik.
Cabe mencionar que estuvieron poresentes loos socios de CIRCLE, León Moshe Barbaras y Victor Vaisman.
Después del refrigerio de recepción ocuparon la Mesa Testera decorada con las banderitas de los países participantes:
León Shoshana Barbaras, Presidenta del Club anfitrión, León Meir Porat, Gobernador del Distrito 128, PPCG del Perú León Walter Zegarra, como las mas alta dignidad Leonistica de los participantes en el Peregrinaje, León Dov Barnoy VG Distrito 128, León Estela Markelevich, Presidenta Electa del Club anfitrión y un servidor, León Touvia (Teddy) Goldstein, Presidente Fundador del Club anfitrión y VGE (3) Distrito 128, organizador del Peregrinaje y del evento y en representación de CIRCLE.
El evento comenzó, con la lectura de la Plegaria por la Paz como toda reunión leonmistica en Israel comienza.y en esta ocasión, en castellano y en hebreo.
Después de las palabras de apertura del suscrito, las salutaciones estuvieron a cargo de la Presidenta León Shoshana Barbaras, del Gobernador de Distrito Leon Meir Porat y del Presidente Pasado del Consejo de Gobernadores del Perú León Walter Zegarra.
En seguida, con las palabras de la Presidenta se procedió a ratificar el Hermanamiento de los Clubes Bucaramanga Siempre Unidos de Colombia, Pedregal de Panama, Sunnyside Sur Americano de USA, Chiclayo Las Musas, Tacna Los Granados y Trujillo Las Quintabas de Perú y Dan Paz-Israel de Israel. Cada representante de estos clubes hizo uso de la palabra y se intercambiaron banderines y atenciones. Los certificados de acreditación del Hermanamiento fueron entregados por los integrantes de la Mesa de Honor a cada club respectivamente.
A continuación, con las palabras de la Presidenta Electa del club anfitrión León Estela Markelevich, se procedió al Reencuentro de Clubes Hermanados entregando a cada uno de sus representantes el Certificado correspondiente: Los clubes son: Chiclayo Las Musa, Trujillo Las Quintanas y Tacna Los Granados del Perú, Sunnyside Sur Americano de USA y Dan Paz-Israel de Israel.
Cabe destacar que estuvieron presentes representantes de lo siguientes clubes peruanos Santa Maria de Huachipa, Elmer Faucett y Santa Victoria de Chiclayo.
Fue una reunión de confraternidad y amistad leonistica de gran significación y en la cual aplicamos, en vivo y en directo, el Primer Principio Leonisitico "Crear y Fomentar el Entendimiento entre los Pueblos del Mundo.
Al término de la Sesion todos los presentes pasaron al Comedor Arava del Hotel Tal y participar en la Cena de Camaradería.
Ya a altas horas de la noche se despidieron los visitantes y los Peregrinos se retiraron a sus respectivas habitaciones.
REGIONAL LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE.
Our Founding President, currently District Leadership Development Chairperson and just elected
Vice District Governor(3), organized, for the first time in our Distric, in hebrew, a successful Regional LIons Leadrship Institute with the particpation of 28 Lioons among them our just elected President, Lion Estela Markelevich and her husband Abraham.
Reconocimientos de CIRCLE (Circuli Cibernetico Leonisitico en Castellano) a los CC LL Touvia Goldstein, Moshe Barbaras y Pedro Zavelev por su labor durante el ejercicio 2006/07.
En el evento de Cambio de Melena del Distrito, nuestro Presidente Fundador y actualmente recientemente electo Vice Gobernador (3) CL Touvia (Teddy) Goldstein fue honrado y condecorado como Miembro de Melvin Jones por la recoleccion a la campana Sight First II de este ano.
El galvano y la insignia le fueron entregados por el PGD Shuka Tamir, y el GDIP Meir Poreat durante el evento de Cambio de Melena del club.
El 29 de Junio, como ultima actividad del Club de este periodo, en colabortacion con el Maguen David Adom (Cruz Roja de Israel), en la ciudad de Rishon LeZion, reclutamos transeuntes dispuestos y aptos donoar sangre.
