Liz Favorites: Her favorite ice cream is vanilla. She is a very good student, especially in Science. In 2000 she lost her grandmother, Claudia, who was the center of her universe. Liz is a quiet, sweet, and intelligent girl.
Liz Parker was born to a family that owns one of the most popular spots in Roswell. Her parents own the Crashdown Cafe. She is a waitress there with her best friend Maria. Liz was a plain, normal girl in a small town, until one day her life changed when she was accidentally shot in the stomach at the Crashdown when an argument between two patrons erupts into a struggle over a gun. Liz was saved by Max Evans revealing himself and his friends when he heals the gunshot wound with a touch that leaves a silver palm print. He breaks a bottle of ketchup, smears it on Parker and tells her not to tell anyone what happened. When he saved her, they experienced a connection. Giving her back her life, meant that his life was now in her hands and that she needed to keep his secret.
It's the beginning of an impossible relationship.
Under extream sercomstances Liz right away told Maria, and later, had to tell Alex.
Liz from the beginning has loved Max. They were both experiencing their first love. Liz, in the beginning of her sophomore year, was dating Kyle Valenti, the sheriff's son, but later broke up with him. At first, Max and Liz tried not to get involved, and keep their love platonic, but couldn't. They knew their love would bring consequences, and that things would not be easy. Well, they weren't. Tess Harding came to scene, and she turned out to be a 4th alien. She brought many changes in Max's and Liz relationship, because it seems like Tess is Max's destiny, they are supposed to be together. Liz understood this so called "Destiny" and sacrificed her relationship with Max, so she could fulfill his destiny and save his home planet.
Liz is similar to Max in that she is very methodical and likes to be in control of every situation. She keeps a journal in which she chronicles her daily life. She is an excellent student and hopes to be head of molecular biology research at Harvard someday. She lives above and works before and after school in the Crashdown Café, which is owned and operated by her parents and is the local hang-out. When Max saved her life and she learned his secret, her world started to spiral out of control. Everything changed but it also felt as if her life was just beginning and she wanted Max to play a major part in her new life. She too knows they are soul mates and her love for him is consummate. However, when she learns of Max' purpose in life, she fears she may be a hindrance and feels she must make the supreme sacrifice and step aside.
As Max reveals more of himself to Liz, an act of trust the alien teens believe could have deadly consequences, he performs a mind meld that allows Liz to see the world through his eyes.
She sees herself as well.
"I could feel everything he felt, I could feel his loneliness," Liz says. "In his eyes I was beautiful."
