Here we go folks...
This takes place after Season 2: Departure
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chalkboard Narrative:
Maria: Alright, re-cap time. Alex is dead... and the aliens and humans are not exactly getting a long. Max and Tess are getting closer together, or so we think. Spaceboy and I are the only human/alien combo actually getting along. Isabel is distraught over Alex’s death and Liz... Liz is on the trail to bringing down Alex’s “killer”. She has let her investigation take over her life... But its not like she would break into the school after hours to look for clues... Right? I mean that would be absurd and un-Liz like. It’s as absurd as thinking Max and Liz would ever rob a convenience store at gunpoint and then get busted. (Chuckles at the thought... Then stops with the look on her face of “would they?”) No. That would be crazy.
[Scene starts in Max's bed room at the Evans's house.]
(We see Max in his bed asleep. Camara pans to his window. We hear a soft *click* as the window is unlocked then see the window slowly open. A figure in Black steps through the window over to Max's bed. Standing over Max's bed the figure puts their hands on both sides of Max's head illuminating a light. Max looks like he is having a nightmare)
*We start seeing flashes of the nightmare*
(Max and Michael are walking in the park at night)
Max: If I want to hear theories about Alex's murder, I could talk to Liz.
Michael: Yeah.
Max: You think we have something to do with it?
Michael: I have no idea. I just wouldn't want our leader to be forming opinions based on what he wants to be true instead of what really is true.
*Max and Isabel in the hall at school arguing
Isabel: You're killing me.
Max: You let it get this far.
Isabel: Fine. This Isabel Evans is dead. You want to be the leader? See how it works without any followers. (She walks away)
*Nightmare switches to another scene of Max and Liz by the highway and Liz about to get into a cab*
Liz: I have a responsibility to Alex to find out what really happened.
Max: Liz, if you go, our friendship is over.
Liz: I guess that's the price I have to pay. Somebody killed Alex and covered up his death. Why don't you see that, Max? Wake up. (She gets in the cab and it pulls away, leaving him standing there)
*Flash: Night. Max and Tess outside looking up at the observatory
Max: I don't know what's going on anymore. I thought I knew but I don't. I've lost everyone.
Tess: I'll be here for eternity.
They kiss.
Max: I'm ready to wake up now.
*Flash to Max sitting outside next to garbage cans and Isabel walks up*
Max: Tess is pregnant.
Isabel: What?
Max: She's pregnant and the baby's dying because it can't live in this atmosphere.
*Flash to Max, Tess, Isabel and Michael inside the Granolith Chamber*
Max: This is a key. When we insert it the Granolith will transport us...home. It will take 24 hours for it to prepare itself. When it's ready, we have to be on board or we don't go. The Granolith is capable of one mission, only one. When we use it, it's gone. It's our only way home.
*Flash to Max and Liz in a lab looking in a microscope
Liz: (yelling) I-I trusted you, I gave you everything. I jumped off bridges for you, I broke laws for you, I risked getting shot for you, I trusted you! And you go off-- God, with Tess-- God, I saved myself for you!
Max: Saved yourself? You slept with Kyle!
Liz: Take me home.
*Flash back to seeing the figure standing over Max*
(We then hear a female's voice whispering)
Voice: You have to know the truth Zan. Your lives depend on it.
(The figure leaves Max's room)
*Flash: Michael, Liz, Maria, and Kyle rush into the Granolith Chamber where Max, Isabel and Tess are*
Liz: Max stop! It was Tess. Tess killed Alex. She mindwarped Alex and sent him to Las Cruces to decode the book, but he broke out of the mindwarp and she killed him.
(Max breaks out of the nightmare and suddenly sits up breathing hard)
Max hears two more voices echoing in his head as he starts to recover from waking up from the nightmare...
Tess: You kill me, Max, you kill our son.
Max: (agonized) Go. This isn't over, Tess.
(Max looks around his room seemingly disorientated)
Max: Wh-- What just happened?
[Scene fades out]
[Opening credits]
[Scene opens to Liz at school talking to another student]
Liz: So, you're saying this definitely has nothing to do with ap computer.
Student: Nothing we've been working on lately. This is binary code. The ones and zeros are usually used to tell a computer how to operate.
Liz: I need you to be more specific. What does this particular sequence mean?
Student: Without an application, it means nothing.
(Liz sees Max walking quickly up to her. He seems kinda out of breath)
Liz: (To the other student) I'll talk to you about this later. (To Max) What's up?
Max: Liz. I have to talk to you about something. Look. The other day at the wake...
Liz: You know Max; I'm not going to just forget about all this. And, maybe it wasn't right for me to say what I said at the wake, and maybe I could have said it a little bit calmer. But I don't regret it. It's true.
Max: No. Its not that.
(Tess comes walking up to Max and Liz)
Tess: Max.
(Max turns around and is startled to see Tess)
Max: Tess. I thought you went home?
Tess: Max. It’s a school day. Why would I go home?
(Max stands there still stun)
Tess: I wanted to know if we were still on for study?
Max: Yeah. Yeah. Your house?
Tess: Yeah. I'll see you there. Max, are you Okay?
Max: Uh...Yeah.
Tess: Okay. I'll see you later.
Max: Yeah. Later.
(Tess leaves)
Liz: Max, are you alright?
Max: I don't think so.
(Max looks like he's going to fall over. Michael sees what is going on and runs over just in time to catch Max)
Liz: Oh my God, Max.
Michael: Maxwell. You all right?
Max: I'm kinda dizzy. Maybe I need to lay down.
Michael: Lay down? Where?
(Maria has walked up to join them)
Liz: Bring him to the Nurses office.
Michael: The nurse’s office? Are you crazy?
Maria: Michael. It’s a nurses office not a hospital. If he says he has a head ache she'll let him lay down.
Michael: Okay. Lets go.
(The four start walking down the corridor towards the nurse’s office. Michael is helping Max walk)
[In the nurse’s office]
Nurse: Now look. You can't be coming in here when you’re not sick just to get out of a test.
Boy: But, come on Nurse Jean just...
Jean:: I'll give you a choice. You can either spend next period in your classroom or you can spend it in the principal’s office.
(The Boy angrily walks out of the office and down the hall way)
(As the boy is walking past Max, Michael, Liz and Maria we hear him say under his breath to himself)
Boy: She wouldn't let you stay if you were on your death bed.
(Boy continues to walk away and down another hall way)
Max: (looking up at Michael) Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.
Michael: Oh, no Maxwell. I had to practically carry you down here and now you don't want to go? (Michael continues to help Max to the nurse’s office) Maybe if you lay down for a while you'll be able to sleep it off.
Max: Maybe.
(The four make it into the Nurses office. Jean looks to be writing up some paper work when she notices the four that walk in)
Jean:: Ah...let me guess. (Points to Maria) Math test. (Points between Liz and Max) Science test. (Points to Michael) English test.
Michael: Yeah. But I don't plain on missing it if thats what your implying.
Jean:: Oh. You're not all acting sick just to get out of a test?
Michael: (nodding towards Max) Well, he’s not acting.
Jean:: Oh, my. I can see that... Put him in there on the spare cot.
(Michael goes into one of the rooms and lays Max down)
Liz: Hi. I'm Liz. You must be the new Nurse.
Jean:: Yes I am.
Liz: This is Maria.
Maria: Hi.
Liz: And, in there is Michael, and thats Max laying down.
Jean:: Uh...Nice to meet you all.
(Michael comes walking back in)
Michael: He just needs some rest. He'll be fine.
Jean:: Yes he will be fine. Now all of you get to class. You can check on him later if he is still here.
(Jean users them all out into the hall)
Liz: I'll check on him after class.
Michael: Okay.
(Back in side the nurse’s office Jean walks over to a cabinet and takes a cloth and dips it into a silvery substance and walks over to Max. Max is clearly in a restless asleep)
Jean: Zan I'm sorry. I didn't think it would have this kind of affect on you.
(Jean blots the cloth on Max's forehead)
This will help you to feel better.
(Max is suddenly less restless)
Jean: You probably have a lot going on inside that head of yours. Don't worry we’ll straiten it all out later.

Scene changes to the music room. Liz is talking to Marie. Marie is setting up a camera to do a photo spread.
Liz: Look, whatever happened to Alex happened while he was in Sweden. You know that "Leanna is not Leanna" document? It was created on January 16 while Alex was still there.
Maria: Will you hold this like this? She hands her the camera light.
Liz: Yes. "Leanna is not leanna." Will, you think about it in alien terms. It could mean that she's a shapeshifter or a skin or some other type of alien that we don't even know about yet.
Maria: You know what? Think about it in human terms, ok? What if he and leanna got in a fight or what if he caught leanna flirting with another boy or something?
Liz: I started playing around with the sequence of ones and zeros that Alex wrote on the delivery food receipt the night he was murdered.
Maria: Please. Do not use that word, liz. Please.
Liz: There were 20 altogether. Then I counted the number of letters in the phrase, "leanna is not leanna." 17. Not a match, until I counted the number of spaces between the words. 17 letters plus 3 spaces equals 20. What if there's a connection?
Michael walks in.
Michael: Hey, can I talk to Maria for a minute?
Liz: Sure. He takes the camera light from her, Liz leaves the band room.
Maria: Give me that. Maria takes the camera light and puts it down.
Michael: So, what's Liz accusing us of now?
Maria: You know what? If you're here to trash-talk, I'm gonna have to take a rain check, 'cause that is the only way I'm gonna get through a simple school day without losing it, all right?
Michael: Well, you gotta tell her to get off this Alex thing.
Maria: What if she's right, though, you know? What if--
Michael: All the more reason for her not to get involved. It's dangerous. It's not for Liz to look into, or you.
Maria: God, I hate this. I just hate that there's this division between all of us.
Michael: Well, then, maybe Liz shouldn't have blamed us for killing Alex.
Maria: That is not what she said, Michael.
Michael: What are you doin'?
Maria: It's a yearbook collage me and Liz are doing in memory of Alex.
Michael looks at all the intruments lined up along the wall.
Michael: And this would be the--
Maria: It's a picture of all his instruments. It's lame, isn't it?
Michael: Kind of. Need help?
Maria: Why? Are you serious?
Michael: Yeah.
Maria: Well, I, um... I could use a ride to the photo shop to get some color copies.
Michael: Ok.
Maria: And then I gotta track down this non-clump spray adhesive, and my exacto knife is missing. And, yeah, I haven't collected half of the stuff that we want to put in the collage and, on top of everything, I have a major deadline to meet.
[Michael and Maria pick up and leave the band room]
