Just as today
No one see's how we feel,
Justice, they say,
Is to remove from us our fear.
America is blinded
By it's glory and it's gold,
It lies before us, branded
With stories gone untold.
This world of ours
It was to be free
Now everyone sits, terrified
Just like you and me.
Unable to speak out
No bounding over hurdles
America, we sit here
Awaiting others to hurt us.
How very true, we don't give up
How sweet we don't give in
we wait for others to fix our lives
And then we make them cringe.
This is no longer a land of freedom
But one of wealth and power
The country is not run by us
It's run by those who make us cower.
The rich man lives large
While our counrty's amassing
The poor man starves
As we await our passing.
America, I thought we were free!
No one seems to care anymore
Not you, and not me...
America, this is no war.
We sit here in our country's plight
We sit, no action at hand
Come on, America, let's put up a fight!
Can't we please take a stand?
I really can't understand
How all this has happened
We broke away to start again
Not sit here and be trampled.
America, weren't we to find
Our way out in the world?
I believe it's more we've lost our way
Have you even to speak one word?
America, take not this plight
America, put up a fight!
We can do it if we cross our powers
America... This nation's OURS!
