WHEN: 1987-1990 (Several incidents involved)

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESSES: Bigfoot was seen many times at my rural northern Minnesota home by many different people between 1987 and 1990. The house had been used as a cabin since 1986 when we moved to Ohio for job reasons. The first sighting was in early winter, maybe November 1987. A group of ten of us were around a bonfire in the backyard. Myself and another friend had to run to town for food and left everybody around the campfire. When we returned they were all inside the house, when my friend went out to get a chair he said he heard something growl at him. Upon saying that, my brother and three or four others said that is why they came inside. They said they could also hear something walking around just out of the fire light. At the time, the house was used as a cabin and there was no electricity, so all we had was the fire and no yard lights. We all armed ourselves as best we could (axes, hammers, etc.) and went to check it out. One of our friends spotted something running past the barn into the back field. When he pointed and yelled, a few others claimed they also saw it but, I did not. They said that all they could see was a black shape running in a zig-zag pattern through the field until it was out of sight. In September or October of 1988, I spotted something in the field behind the house which rises in a gradual slope and then levels out. It was at the top of the rise, maybe 150-200 yards away. Even with field glasses all I could see was a tall brown figure. There was a haystack behind the creature. The haystack was about 6-7 feet tall and was about the same height as the creature. It was light brown in color, but because of the distance, I can't be sure what I saw. It stood perfectly still while I watched it out my back window. When I left to walk outside for a better look it was gone. I know it wasn't a bear on it's hind legs, as they don't stand upright that long at one time, and most of them are black around here. I thought maybe a stray horse with it's tail facing me while it ate off the haystack, but it didn't look right for that. In 1989, my brother moved back into the house and strange things started happening. People would be sitting in the house and something would come and pound loudly on the outside wall. Upon investigation nothing could be found. Another night a friend came in and asked who was standing behind the house in the brown trenchcoat. Well, everybody was in the house and when we went outside to look there was nobody there. More and more people saw the creature, but as many of them had heard the stories and were partying, we just thought they were joking around or seeing things. In June or July of 1990, my friend from Ohio saw it from the roof of the garage at this same house around dusk. We use to sit up there in the summertime and watch the fog roll in. What happens is as the sun sets a fog or mist comes rolling down the field until it surrounds the house. Anyway, he said he saw a Sasquatch in the back field about halfway down the hill. He said it just walked into the trees that run along side of the field. Finally in late summer of 1990 in broad daylight, one of the people living in the house with my brother saw something in one of the junk cars behind the house. With my brother covering him from an upstairs window with a rifle, he (along with a 12 gauge shotgun) went to investigate. While checking in the back of an old van he stopped and said "There's something in the bushes looking at me". My brother's roomate didn't move. My brother asked him "What is it?". His roomate answered that he couldn't tell but it was big. My brother then said "Well, Shoot it!". So his roomate turned and shot whatever it was with the shotgun. They said it took off through the brush. Lots of crashing and roaring. Nothing was ever found and nobody ever saw it again.

OTHER NOTES:This is a true strory! There were alot of big parties on that property when my brother lived there with his friends. Of course Bigfoot became kind of a legend out there and a lot of people claimed to see it. It was something they could scare their girlfriends with. Lots of beer was drunk at that house in those years, so most people think we were seeing things. But enough people saw it, sober people too, and enough strange things would happen that I'm sure something was going on, I'm just not sure what. Some people wouldn't even come back to the property they were so scared. Was it bigfoot?....I don't know, a vagrant, a bear, I don't know, but they shot something out there.
