WHEN: April, 2000

WHERE: Wooded area near Powell, Tennessee

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS: I don't know if this was a Bigfoot or what, but it sure did scare the crap out of my friends and I.

It was April of 2000, (I know because I had friends over for my birthday party). It was around 8pm or so and everyone came in from skating to eat. After a while we all went into my room while two of my friends, "R" and "B", said they were going to go outside and walk around. It wasn't too long until we heard knocking on the door. We opened it up and "R" and "B" came running inside, scared stiff. We asked them what was wrong and they said that "there's something out there" asnd that they had heard something in the woods near my house. The rest of us started laughing because we had yelled out the window at them earlier. So we went on laughing and "R" and "B" went into my room. After a little while, I went up to my room and "R" and "B" were both almost crying. I knew they couldn't be lying. We told "R" and "B" that we had yelled to them earlier, but they both said they heard us, and what they heard and saw was different. They said they had seen something moving in the leaves and heard footsteps. We all became a little freaked out after hearing this. So me and my friend, "D", went out to the back pourch to see if we could see anything. Sure enough, we could see a faint, white/brown figure in the moonlight. It was just standing there, and then it moved. I don't recall it standing on it's legs, but more like kneeling down. When we came back inside we told everyone what we had seen and then we all started getting bad feelings. "A" tried to call his parents, but couldn't get an answer. Then finally his Grampa came over and told us that there was nothing to be afraid of. "A's" Grampa finally convinced us to go outside with him so he could show us there was nothing out there. We walked around the wooded area and around my house. Then we were about to go back inside when my friend "B" stopped us dead in our tracks and said that there was something behind the garage. We looked and saw nothing. And this is no joke..to this day "B" still claims that he had seen something by the garage that night. We started walking again after that and came upon a small feces looking pile. We had no idea what it was, and when we checked the next morning it was gone! That's when I thought something might have been there, but we have'nt heard or seen anything since.

ALSO NOTICED:I'm not sure how tall it was, when I saw the thing out the back porch, it was smaller looking, kind of kneeling down. They all said they heard twigs and leaves crushing. I never really thought of what it could have been until now. We never really bring up the subjrct anymore, but I still think about what it could have been.

I have only heard of a couple Bigfoot sightings in TN. I live about 45 miles from the Smokey Mountains. I live right in the middle of a wooded area and there is a major road about 5 miles away. The woods go way back, in fact they have had a lot of weird stories on the news around my area. Kids falling in mines, dead bodies, one time I think they even found a dead body in a tree. Weird stuff like that. The place around my home is kindly populated, but when you drive for about ten minutes, you will find a forest-like region with Mountains and foothills for miles. Sounds like a good place for Bigfoot to hid to me.
