WHEN: 1970's

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS: Miss S.S. of Fargo, ND, comes from a rural wooded area near White Earth, Minnesota/ BAck in the 1970's, when she was about 11 or 12 years old, she was sitting at the end of her family's driveway one evening around dusk waiting for her friend to come and pick her up to go mail some letters. As she sat there a skunk came out of the woods and began to walk down the road. She was sitting there watching the skunk when suddenly something much bigger stepped out- A large upright-walking creature, somewhat bigger than a man and covered with dark hair. Its form was like that of a man, but its face was like a gorilla's, with its posture slightly hunched over as it crossed the road in a strange sort of sidestep type walk and went back into the woods on the other side of the road. She saw this from a distance equivalent to about one city block away, clearly enough to know that she had eye contact with the creature. Prior to this, S.S. had always enjoyed being in the woods alone, but she has been afraid to be ever since.
