Bigfoot Seen Crossing Road Near Northome,MN

WHERE: Near Northome, Minnesota

WHEN: 1970's (Middle of the night)

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS: In the 1970's my father saw a sasquatch run across the highway in front of his truck in the Northome area. He saw it running on two feet, so he knew it wasn't a bear. It was dark brown. It scared him, and he didn't even slow down or turn around to try and find it. Another time, in the same area (this is the area my dad hunts in) he was walking through the woods and he found an area of small pine trees that were twisted off and the pine trees sort of formed a circle. Nearby were some dead grouse that had their insides taken out of them. He was very scared and for some reason it made him think of the bigfoot he saw run across the road that one time. He took my cousin back to the area to see it, so nobody would think he was just making up the story. It's the only two fascinating stories he tells! I believe him, and it's enough for me to believe in bigfoot's existence.

OTHER NOTES: The sighting was in the Northome area sometime in the 1970's. He still remebers it and it arouses my curiousity all the more to hear him re-tell it again. It wasn't a super-dramatic story or anything, but he definetly saw something running on two legs across the highway. He said it wasn't fast, more like something lopping. It looked dark or dark reddish brown. It scared him though, when he saw it because it was in the middle of the night. One thing he comments on is that at the time there was no traffic up in that area. When he would bring us kids up to deercamp, we could literally play on the highway in front of deercamp, and often my parents and their friends would set their lawn chairs right on the highway and sit and visit. I don't know what the "people activity" is like up there now, but I think it's still pretty secluded. I know that sasquatch at least used to exist up there! I bet they still do in some areas. I would love to see one, but I think they need protection and not people being invasive to them.
