WHEN: July 4, 2002 around 10pm

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESSES: Myself, my wife, and a close friend were out behind our garage around 10pm on July 4, 2002. We got done shooting off fireworks about a half hour earlier. Very quiet out until we heard a loud screaming, hollering sound that lasted for 2-3 minutes. It sounded like a woman being raped or murdered or something. We have hunted in the woods all our lives with no fear and have never ever heard any thing like it!! We live in a wooded area with ravines, rolling hills, etc.

This September, my friend heard a howl, yell, something he could not describe, near his home which is 10 miles to the south of my home. Later he was telling a DNR officer about the howl he heard and at that same exact time, the howl, yell went off again! The DNR officer said he had never heard anything like it in his entire life either. He couldn't identify what it was making those sounds.

OTHER NOTES: Both these locations are very close to the Fondulac area. Very swampy, very wooded and very dense. I think they move from one area to another, perhaps like migration. Bothers me alot, can't get that scream out of my head.
