Big move to the farm part1On this page we will be showing you the process of us moving all 116 rosebushes to our farm. It has been quite a process and alot of work for us, but we want to be able to enjoy our roses in our new place. First I pruned all of them to about one foot in height, we think they will do better that way. Then I name tagged each one. Then it was time to dig them up.We first dug up the 10 Hope for Humanities and transplanted them at the farm. We put bags of leaves on each bush to protect them for the winter.
This is our old place, some of the roses have been dug out of the bed.

Here is one rose bush that we dug up.
Two different rosebushes at different ages.
After all our rosebushes had been dug up, we put most of them in our truck, some went in my car for tranporting to our farm. It took us about 5 hours between the two of us to dig up aroudn 106 rosebushes. Some of the longer ones in the truck are trees that we dug up, not rosebushes.
We had to store them in our barn for a few days, until we got a bob cat to dig the trench.
Unfortunately, due to many different circumstances and the main one being, the bobcat was to expensive for us to rent, we ended up digging the trench ourselves, took us about 7 hours between the two of us to dig it.
I helped some, can't you tell?

This is me, covering up the roses.
In the spring I will make a new page to show you the second part of the process of planting all the rosebushes in their new home.
