A treasure hunter is the prefered title for thieves who seek wild treasures. Often, these people live by the scraps they find while persuing wild, fantastic items.
Social Ranks: The wealth of a treasure hunter is often wildly random. Some barely get by, living on the tiny bits they can find. Other treasure hunters (generally the ones who are good at it) amass great fortunes, yet never retire because of their love of treasure.
Requirements: This kit requires a dexterity of at least 15. This kit is open to any class, but usually works best with thieves.
Weapon Proficiencies: A treasure hunters weapons usually consist of small, easily concealable weapons like stilettos and daggers. A treasure hunter should also be able to use various treasure hunting tools, like a pick axe, ropes, etc. as weapons.
Nonweapon Proficiencies: Appraising, Tumbling, Jumping, Ancient History
Equipment: A treasure hunter should pack lightly but effectively. Because of this, they can't use armor with an AC of 4 or better.
Recommended Traits: Alertness, Glibness, Keen Hearing, Lucky, Obscure Knowledge, Precise Memory
Benefits: A treasure hunter gains the following abilities as if he was a thief of the same level, Hide in Shadows, Pick Pockets, Move Silently. If the treasure hunter is a thief, he gets an automatic 20 point bonus, with an additional 3 point bonus to one ability every level.
Hindrances: By definition, a treasure hunter is greedy. Trusting one is difficult, because it's hard to say whether or not a treasure hunter will abandon a party after he gets his treasure. Because of this, Treasure Hunters get a -2 to their Leadership score, and a -2 to their Willpower score.
Wealth: Varies greatly, often depending on the amount of experience the treasure hunter has.
